LIVE GAME Round 17v Manly

Live Game Discussion
I've been a supporter of Benji for most of this year but I've probably been supportive because I'm sick of changing coaches every year BUT now I'm seeing really poor judgement in team selections, Team positional changes ,team lacking any coordination in attack
He picks a team then sits on the sideline and plays musical chairs with the team during the game .
Benji as coach " try this " and if that doesn't work " try that "
Cant imagine any good coach wanting the job as coaching this merger which has always been like an "estranged " marriage totally run by a bunch of useless real bosses called the HBG
Club pretty much has to get Brad Arthur if they’re moving on from Benji, realistically he’s the only option out there that might have a chance of fixing us. Agree though not many coaches will put their hand up though.

Thats how he played. Had no clue what he was going to do and played off the top of his head. I dont believe he cannot see that you cant coach without basic structures in attack and defence.

Brads at the bears isn’t he?

I think Des is the best option.

But Benji is likely to get another year unless we spoon.

I was expecting a loss buy not a bashing from Manly's forwards. Without Olakauatu, their pack was borderline KOE standard yet they dominated us. Nobody could make any yardage even the normally reliable Turuva. We looked flat and disorganised which is squarely on the coach.
It all starts in the forwards. I thought this was a game we would win the middle battle but alas 🤬

Why can we NEVER win the forward battle? Every week it seems the opposition run harder & tackle harder especially the first 10 mins in each half. It has been this way since at least the end of the Maguire regime.

Why? It has to be coaching & strategy. Can someone explain why this happens every bloody week?

No he was considered maybe he did an interview but they decided to go Mal with Gardiner joining him as an assistant. Des is done as a coach you can’t have the likes of Tino, Fifita, AKP, Brimson, Campbell as well as other talented players they have and be dead last. It might not be a premiership winning team it’s sure not a bottom 4 team on paper for them. Brad is the only one available that we can make a claim for for a new coach, otherwise Benji most likely gets the job for next year.

The team selections and interchange reeks of a coach who’s clueless, directionless and is clutching at straws.

Reminds me of when Fittler was at the Roosters in 2009 and played Anasta in fullback. Roosters had the sense to sack him that year and move onto an experienced coach in Smith.

Yeah, I’m sorry you’re dead right.

So what was worse tonight - the way we played or the way were were coached?
Obviously the unforced errors aren’t at the result of the coaching.
The chopping and changing of our spine definitely is.
The question I have which makes all the difference in a match;
Is it the coaching or the players that has them recieving hit ups with a 1 or 2 step run up?
Watch the other teams take a hit up; from either their backline or their forward pack, it is all done at speed!

They have a coach that has done his apprenticeship under very good coaches. He is starting to get a structure to the eels and once Moses is back they will be threatening the good sides.
Will finish ahead of us by a mile.
Theyre playing pretty good at the moment....would rather be in their shoes than ours

Very good analogy. Good player that never made it as a good coach.
