TEAM LIST Round 18 v Roosters

Team List
Royce has had one good performance in reggies and whole lot of poor ones. I think it's pretty easy to understand why he needs to do more before the coach drops another to accommodate him - whether you agree with it or not.
History tells us Benji will only use at least one of our bench players for around 10 minutes maximum.
That being the case I’m certain Royce Hunt would have caused the Roosters a lot more concern during a 10-20 minute stint.

Benji should've picked Hunt to bully this young Roosters pack. He brutalised their reserve team last week, including a couple of KOs. We need to win the middle convincingly to take their classy outside backs out of the game.
Exactly. How do we all see this but the coach doesn't?!

This is a game that gives us the opportunity to dominate the opposition pack by seniority & a bit of aggression like Hunt did against some of these guys last week in reserves.

He was pretty good against the Bulldogs and was good against the Roosters. 4 games in reserves, 2 good, 2 bad. There are some serious Royce Hunt myths on here. He's killed a burger or two but don't understand the extreme takes about him. He was good in firsts when he came off the bench.

Can someone take a megaphone down to our training session at Concord and scream out “Bench players generally play well coming off the bench, but not so well when they start”

The good games were off the bench.

10-15 mins either side of HT is his thing, and against the Roosters pack this weekend, he'd be damaging.

But they obviously see something else, particularly with a second-grader being named captain.
I wonder if there is any chance Benji will actually move Hunt to the bench before the start of the game? He is named at 18, it would be smart move considering the youth and inexperience of the Roosters pack.

If our experienced forwards can dominate that pack and not allow their halves and backline to get any clean ball, we might actually have a show. Having Hunt there to soften them up more would be helpful, but there is no reason our starting pack and current bench can’t do this even without him. They just need to believe.

Looking at it, our forward pack is significantly more settled & arguably significantly better than the Roosters.

It has to be a game where these guys take it on their shoulders to carry us along.

Turuva CANNOT be a liabilty. He's one of our premier players. Even out of position, it is vital that guys like Turuva stand up & show the way. You know Tedesco will.

Adam Doueihi & Latu HAVE to take control of the game. To be honest- this is a game that could easily decide Doueihi's future. It's in his hands (and within his ability) to be the most influential player on the field. If he can be that- wouldn't everyone want him to return to the Tigers?

For all his accolades, the Rooster guy Nawakawakakwaawwwniissii or whatever...isn't a good defender. To'a, speaking of key players that need to step up, & Lualili'i ...need the ball & to take him on. He's batting at 50% win ratio when playing in the centres & some big scores have been put on in those games Same with the 2nd rowers. Target him. Isolate him. Highlight his biggest weaknesses. Jack Bird is an experienced player- this is where he can show his qualities.

Our guys stepping up- Hope & Murray- should be inconsequential. They just have to not cost us the game.

Other than Tedesco & Tupou, I think the Tigers put superior players on in every other position on the field.

First up,- Hunt onto the bench - simple game plan for him , run hard and hurt them .
Game plan rest of team - tackle tackle tackle , deep kicks down field box them in , kick early if need be but get men down there .
Drop outs must go 40 plus metres , no short stupid ones , kick longggggg.
Keep Teddy at bay you go along way to winning this one , hurting in defence will be a major player ,
Pole to run onto the ball hard or meet reserve grade coach next week .
Hope to be sneaky around ruck , couple short sharp, runs specially close to line ,
Red cordial prior to game start for everyone .
Don’t give up

I just watched the pre match presser with Hope and he fills me with confidence. He's a journeyman player. He has the reps. He can come in and do a job. He knows what he needs to do. I'm starting to warm up to our chances in this game 😅😅

I don’t think he will let us down, as you say he’s battle hardened, done the ground work over the years playing Qld Cup and now has the added confidence of an NRL game under his belt as well as some strong consistent game time for our NSW Cup team this season.
He’s primed and ready to rip, I wouldn’t be surprised if he gets man of the match,

I just watched Twal, Hope, Skelton and Staines do their press conferences. Every single one of them was interrupted by other players sh1t talking and distracting them.... I recall this happening in previous week's too.

I am all for banter, but with the club under as much pressure as its coming across as really unprofessional. I am guessing, but I can't imagine the roosters letting their players get away with this sort of sh1t

Culture builders alright,
I love Terrell as a player and as a person, he’s raw and he deserves every bit of success that comes his way, but when he does his YouTube stuff in the team environment, I quite often need a translator to work out what they are talking about.
Maybe I’m getting too old, but we certainly have some unique characters, they are out there.

I can't fathom having Charlie Murray on the bench in preference over
Royce Hunt . I like having a bit of big and powerful to mix with our generally lightweight pack .
Many times this year we've been overpowered by big powerful forwards
Tigers have always favoured lightweight mobile forwards
I think because it worked in 2005
Well it hasn't since , Raiders ,Warriors , are 2 clubs that have many big powerful forwards .In fact most clubs can out muscle us
