Apisai Koroisau #263

A guy that’s 32 and was full of running from dummy half, busting line breaks, stepping Latrell twice bagging 2 tries just says every thing about him. It was enormous to go the full 80 without back up

This guys character just shows who he is
A few blokes need to hang their head in shame in the video session. Support play is a key indicator of a team who plays for each other.

Wests Tigers are poised to kick off contract talks with Api Koroisau next week as they look to keep their captain out of the clutches of expansion teams and provide some stability amid speculation over the future of Lachlan Galvin.

Koroisau is off contract at the end of next season, making him a prime target for Perth as they prepare to enter the premiership in 2027. The Tigers are determined to keep them at bay given Koroisau’s outstanding form and leadership qualities.

It is understood Koroisau’s manager reached out to the club in a bid to get some clarity over their plans for the former NSW hooker, prompting the Tigers to lock in talks next week.

Plans to speak to Koroisau and his agent come as the club remains tight-lipped over the outcome of a board meeting this week where the future of Galvin was discussed. (DT)

I think da Silva is definitely going to leave if api extends cant see him waiting at least another two years as the second hooker and with his best mate leaving aswell I just hope we Jared Haywood is ready by the time api retires which I think he will be

Haywood has an elite passing game, ruck IQ & short kicking game (arguably better than TDS at same age). He also has a good running game, pretty quick off-the-mark (not TDS level but still good) but does get found out in the physicality of defending in the middle & on his own line.

He still needs a couple of pre-seasons to develop his body, strength & defensive nous, to be ready for any form of NRL IMO.

I want API at the club forever in some form. Their needs to be boys clubs within the NRL otherwise you get walked over.
You need to have players ex and current that are respected and promoting your club to the community and within the media - all the strong clubs have them. The Bulldogs are a great example. Anyone who thinks a boy's club is a bad thing needs to have a good look at the clubs who have got voices all through the media and associated with their ex clubs compared to the ones that don't.

Yep 100% we have to keep him in our side.

That souths performance was diabolical. Benji now needs to manage his transition into Lock/Hooker.

We can't take someone who is the heart of our team away, not now. Not after what has been done. We make the WT a flight deck, lets be a true club for once.

Gotta say, he's been quite disappointing for a few games now.

His passing out of dummy half has become very slow and predictable.

For some reason, he is intent on being cunning with the marker more than getting a quick flat pass out or setting up the forwards to march.

Our last tackle is usually bad, but Api doesn't help by not getting a quick pass out. The line speed kills our halves before they can kick.

He needs to go back to basics for a bit. Pass first, tackle hard, lead the line speed and get the boys to follow you. Forget the BS look this way, play that way crap.

If he’s disappointing now, can you imagine him in 2028?

Did you see TDS play yesterday, bullets. And made a couple of nice runs

He's disappointing now not because he's slow or weak but has the wrong priorities.

2028 is a year too far, he'll probably retire end of 2027.

He has good leadership qualities and he can do what we need him to do, it's just the coaching staff needs to get in his ear about his performance.

If I'm being honest we looked better when Tristan Hope was on the field. I'm willing to give Api a chance to respond to that poor performance though, considering he did just come off a bad head knock.
