OFFICIAL Apisai Koroisau #263

I think Latu is just finding his feet as a 7.. today he played a role, but I didn't see him "play what was Infront of him"... Maybe we needed that stability today... With an offseason under his belt I think we will see a much improved player .
Yep, Latu is just doing his education.

Some weeks he'll go after it, some weeks he'll steer around from first receiver, some weeks he'll probably put a bunch of work through his kicking.

He's just a seedling.

Hopefully we see him busy out of structure a couple of times in the next few weeks.

Maybe the coaching staff just preferred Haywood, it’ll be another couple years before we see how this pans out
Maybe. Still, it was a very different story performance wise two years ago to the day, that WT announced the6 had extended Api for a further 2 years

I really don't see the need to rush anything with Api this time around . He can go to market in November and we can either compete or not with a counter offer.

The problem with Api isn’t the 2025 version, it’s the version 26 and beyond. If he’s starting to decline already, that’s a red flag. And if TDS kicks on, the club will look like idiots.

If you look backwards they have a proven track record of being idiots I don't think they are worried about it

Hes not declining with his speed or skill or smartness. His priorities are wrong. He's not slow, he gets behind the ball, always gets to marker etc. he just seems too engrossed in playing the 2023/2024 version of himself.

He will come good. The coaches need to get into him about choosing poor options.

Only saw the second half but Api was fine? Like did his job and desperately unlucky not to get a penalty off a near break.

He can’t play 80 for the full season though. Need some tackling machine for first 20 IMO.
His service and his options were wrong in the attacking 20. Not at all saying that he was the reason for the halves ineptness but API gave loopy balls, kept passing it to forwards and didn't even once do a bullet pass off the ground. Luai was often getting the ball 15-20m behind the ruck with the defender in his face.

Yeah fair, I’d have to watch back to comment on how regular that was. Tbh though, his service to halves has never been his biggest strength, always his ball playing, running and kicking.

So encouraging to see the man kept on for leadership and example to our younger players spin around at dummy half today like he didn't know what day it was and have the ball taken from him by our opponents marker. Standards.
I agree

Letting Da Silva go for Api was the wrong call.
Love api, but our future was his Tayln

Is there any chance we could get him back??

Watching TDS at Parra he’s not doing that great at the moment. That’s not to say he won’t become a good player down the line, but he’s still not ready for NRL full time IMO. I highly doubt we’ll bring him back especially now its pretty much gonna be Haywood taking over from Api unless they buy another 9 in the future.

I am not sure why TDS was allowed to walk when we go and start Hope with API off the pine , we could have done that with TDS , first 25 TDS then API on , API stays on until last 15 then bring TDS back on for the last part as he would have more energy , I know Hope would be cheaper contract but budget buys don’t win comps ,

I believe it was the fact of not overspending on the hooker position but also they were both specialist hookers. Yes API has played half but average there imo.
Not sure hope can play elsewhere but he reduces the cost outlay for the 9 spot.
If they overspend on any position what position do you cut money from.
