Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

If you dropped every player after having a shocker, half the team every second week would be shaking hands with Arron Payne. Charlie has shown more passion than most over the past month. Skelton has had some terrible defensive reads of late, but I guess Benji is okay with that.

Anyway he now has to be consistent and drop any player that has a shocker

Staines was "Steve Mavin" bad on the weekend.

Unfortunately for him Tu'itupou has been on the edge of selection due to having a really good KOE campaign.

It's good that there is GOOD competition for 1st grade spots. This isn't necessarily a slight on Staines as it is a commendation for Tu'itupou.

2 big wingers- should get some decent carries out of our area. Probably going to be important given we are playing 5 forwards & a utility back in our pack.

It might make us vulnerable in some ways for speed & agility. But if we can compensate that with field position & power closer to the line- there are pay-offs to be had.

Could be an indication of future contract status for Tu'itupou. He's certainly earned a shot with his efforts this season.

Agreed. Staines has been hard done by in being dropped.

I think the other bloke has been playing well enough to deserve a call up

Too inconsistent imo. When he is good, he is very, very good but when he is bad he is....
He’s lost a lot of speed through his injuries so suits him better playing closer to the ruck. Unfortunately you can’t say that either of jahrome or latu have looked more likely than him though right? AND he’s kicking goals….

Tavana a talent no doubt but not sure if he makes our NSWcup side next year. If not, not worth a dev deal IMO as he will no longer be eligible for flegg (I think).

Decent chance Makasini is left centre, T May left wing(or vice versa), making Skelton and either Staines or Isaac T our NSW cup wingers.
What about Tavana at 1, Mason at 6 and Sullivan at 7 ?

Doueihi on 450k for 1 year is a total no-brainer.

It's a low-risk signing. If he flops at lock, then off he goes at the end of the year. If he suceeds, then we up the offer for the next.

Digging our heels in over 50k for a guy who's been in our system for years, is versatile and has shown a bit of upside at lock is crazy. At worst, he's a decent 14/18th man. At best, we've found a quality ball-playing lock.
I agree especially considering we have paid more for a player that's contributing to south's team not ours.

Mayhaps not as yet but they have much more potential upside.
His goal kicking is inconsistent. Ross Conlon he isn't.
