Funnily enough both Heamasi & Casey are Newington boys.
When McLean debuted he was one year out of school - Makasini is lining up for Newington tomorrow at Stanmore against Joeys. So next year your comparison becomes more apt 👍
 
Please do not rush this kid, let him develop properly and gain the right experiences before you rush him. As stated, before in this thread we have the makings of a very good Flegg side next season, let him have a first grade pre season under his belt and then 5 games in flegg then bring him through.

May was dominate in the recent Cup Game-----3 tries.
I know the argument, both LHS centres, but Makasini played RHS.
However Makasini did not stand out IMO. Was OK, but not outstanding. Still learning while at school.
Not the time to rush him into NRL side yet. Let him settle in KOE for the time being and his form screams out.........I'm ready!

Benji hasn't been one to wait long before blooding players who he thinks are ready for NRL. Galvin, Tiny, he was right with both.

You don't think there is significant improvement in his defensive positioning? The bloke is 20 games into his career, enjoys the contact and offers quality yardage carries. I'd also assume he is on a relatively modest wage.
He is the n.o 1 winger at our club over the next few years in my opinion.

Brasher had already turned 18, and yes he was still at school (but in his second year of Year 12 in 1989 when he debuted). Was in Aust Schoolboys in 1988

I haven't watched enough of Makasini to really comment much on his play but most his footy has been as rugby centre has it not? He should be proficient on both sides of the field if this is the case with Rugby being inside/outside rather than left/right.
Has he got any attributes that suggests he is particularly suited to the left or is that just the position he has been thrown into at the moment?
