Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Yep. I think Sukkar is definitely an NRL squad player I want to keep, but in the middle. He is a very well-rounded, versatile young player.

Also tackles at 94% on an edge in first grade, well above the best in that position in the game, including the likes of Hudson Young and Crichton.
How is he versatile? He's a more basic version of Twal. Who's regularly criticised on here for being too one dimensional.
If he were on a train and trial for the next two years as he develops then fine, he's out of the limelight. But he's top 30 so hey ripe for criticism as he simply isn't good enough for a top 30 spot yet.

Have you watched the Eels play lately in comparison to us ?
It’s chalk and cheese, if we were playing them this week they would beat us by 20 plus without even trying.
Sad to say that is true and they would do it even without that scum Moses in the side. 😢

Also sad to say that they have been building very nicely while we seem to be going backwards. 😢

Benji has name value, no doubt about that.
Very dismissive of his ability to sell his vision to potential signings there.
But that will only get him so far if he’s clueless when it comes to the 80 mins week in week out. And like another question I have regularly posed. What’s the point of attracting all these players if the coach can’t do anything with them? Also, the appeal will soon wear off for players to want to continue to come here and sign for him if we aren’t getting results. He needs more to his arsenal than his reputation as a player.
Yes. Obviously.

Easy, he currently plays second rower to an acceptable ability when called upon and the discussion prior was on the fact that he also looked suited to the middle as well.

That makes him versatile.

I don't understand this forum sometimes. We have people who constantly complain about the club not being patient with young guys and lack of development.

Then those same exact people want players like Samuela, To'a etc dropped or moved after a few quiet performances... Young players are going to be inconsistent, especially in a squad where personnel are constantly changing. Not to mention injuries and the ware and tear of a long season. It takes young players time to adapt physically and mentally to the rigours of the NRL.
He's not young!!!
He will be 26 next season!
He's been at the same level fitness and ability wise for 8 years. The Knights gave up on him and let him go, we should probably do the same. He wouldn't make the 17 at any other club...

Trey mooney been told to move on , would he be good pick up , can play front row or back row
I think Trey would be a great addition to our pack, tough and only knows one way - Forward.
Another bad ass lock to rotate with AD would be my choice to round out the pack.
Big Mak in the centres excites me as a To’a replacement as he has been playing busted for wayyyy too long.

But he's not acceptable at NRL level. Averaging 4 hit ups a game, couldn't break a tackle if he tried. Tackles alright but still too small and weak
He should be playing and developing in NSW cup, as a future retirement for twal.
Our pack hard dominated every week, and that's because twal, seyfarth, Sukkar and doueihi are not starting level forwards in the NRL. Simple as that. All too weak and get dominated

the way lee still criticises the club publicly and puts his name in the media whenever something happens with WT infuriates me to no end, it’s his fault we got to where we did. was all self interest and the fans deserved much better
I do think most people are clearly seeing he has an axe to grind and carrying on like a bitter ex. Shows just how low we got to as a club having that clown to lead

I wish we had more Indigenous players.
I have Indigenous heritage myself and our lack of Indiginous players and at times lack of opportunity given to Indigenous players coming through our juniors and pathways is an entirely different topic, but one I can assure you does not go unnoticed within the Indigenous rugby league community.
I’m not saying this is in anyway deliberate from a Wests Tigers point of view, but more needs to be done in this area if we are to keep up with the systems out in place by nearly all other clubs.
Didn't we have a big push the last couple of years with involvement of indigenous players and indigenous pathways???

He's been playing at his current level for 6 years already. That's the problem. He's no better now than he was as teenager. He's been injured for at least half of every season he's played. His body breaks down every couple of weeks. It's just who he is, and for us, that's not good enough.

We need a starting centre who's head and shoulders above our other options
Consistent , pushing for SOO, fast, elusive and a decent defender.

Not a guy who has 3-4 great games a season and then a dozen poor ones.

That's why he's 25-30 on our roster, and should be paid accordingly.
Who’s a better option at right centre?
