LIVE GAME Round 22 v Bulldogs

Live Game Discussion
Overseas on holidays so haven’t seen the game, still can’t believe the result.
Congratulations to Benji and his coaching staff they cop so much crap after every loss I hope they get to sit back and enjoy the result.
One last thing I can’t help but mention how Old boy Gus is seriously loosing it, he got the best junior he has ever seen to his club and sadly is not getting the results he was hoping for , and not forgetting his comments after the first state of origin game that NSW were so much more dominant that QLD aren’t in the same ballpark.
Just goes to show that time catches up with all of us.
Go the Tigers 🐅
Gould also said with great confidence at the beginning of the season that the Tigers will make the 8!

Luai, Api and Bula applying pressure with their turn and chase.

The pressure confused our old friend

It was one of the most satisfying moments of the game...

I was waiting for them to blow a penalty for Bula tackling Galvin without the ball.
Yeh this was a weird one but the replay turned it into a great one.

I initially thought Bula interefered with galvout somehow...weird why he just pulled his hands away and died on his run.. dont know what he was thinking

Please don't laugh but........

Sit down in front of the TV. Gummies wife geeing me up by wondering aloud how long before I turn the game off in anger.

May drops the ball, six again, six again, Crighton try - all in 60 seconds.

That'll do me. Turn off and go have a nanna nap.

Wake up 90 minutes later. 90 seconds to go and the Tigers are in front. WTF happened?

And when Galvin missed the ball and the ball went over the sideline, Critter just ignored Galvin, didn't even look at him.
The whole dynamic with Galvin and the rest of the players at the dogs feels a bit manufactured. You can see the frustration they have with him when he messes up and they try and hide it by ignoring it and moving on, when they usually rally around the player and try and build his confidence back up. When he does something good it's a bit over the top and not very genuine with the hugs and chest bumps. Methinks there is something rotten at the dogs and it is all Gus' fault. Also from Galvins perspective he had a horrible game, and not because he tried and failed, he seemed to be uninterested, often dawdling behind the line in defence and attack, not his usual busy game switching sides in attack to make the extra man.

Galvin never earned the right to be playing in that squad at the expense of the player who did. They can dress it up any way they want to appease the "great one" but it only needs a couple of poor performances and their season will implode. Hope the Warriors put in one of their season best performances next week and snack them.

Im Superstitious,

Can you please nap again during the Manly game in fortnight ?

Thx in Advance

It was obvious from the kick off they had a lot riding on this game.
I haven’t seen this team as highly motivated. There was high fives, back slapping and laughing when a ball was dropped or a penalty was awarded against them. It was next level supportive camaraderie from a team with nothing to lose. They had a lot of motivation though, The dogs half and coach both knocked us back and slammed the door on their way out, also as Luai mentioned, Doueihi was playing for a contract and the players wanted to support his cause. 😂
All true, but I just wish they would have that motivation all the time.
Adam Doueihi always puts in 100%....I for one will be very, very upset if they let him slip through their fingers. Always one of our best players.

Sorry can’t help but laugh at that, but I can sure understand your actions. The start often sets the tone for the whole game, especially with our mob, and you were justified in thinking it was going to be a disaster of an afternoon. Thank God the team had other ideas on this occasion.

Happy afternoon for you and your wife with the gummies getting up afterwards and pushing the Cowboys under us on the ladder in the process 😁

gee the media has really created a storm in a tea cup , with the boys giving the dog supporters the bird , if these media idiots went and stand with the grubby dogs supporters they would really have something to write about

Wow imaging finding out it meant "Take That" or " Here you Go" supposed worse in Arabic and Lebanese. Fainu and Naden are classic middle eastern surnames.

I didn't know it was that bad we should lose our NRL licence.....

The Bulldogs fans were only yelling in response....Um they waited 70 minutes to yell abuse at the Tigers players.

Yeah it’s a real dog act on Sexton, imo. Why they felt the need to fix something that wasn’t broken I don’t know. Poach Galvin if you want, but at least have the sense to bring him through slowly while he learns the ropes in a new squad.

They have no one else to blame but themselves if they derail their season by rushing this kid into the most important position on the field. That said it is only one bad game in the wet. They put 40+ on Manly a week ago with that team, though I don’t think Galvin had too much to do wth that.

Just finished rewatching the game with the emotion of the live game taken out of it.

We won the game off our defence and energy. AD was MoM but the forwards made it happen. they dominated the Dogs pack, moreso in defence than attack. But there was enough momentum provided to allow our halves to get to work.

A couple of things that I didn't pick up live. There was a definite mismatch in the line speed on the left and right hand side of our line. Luai was leading the up and in defence on the left whereas AD was not as enthusiastic on the right. Not sure if this was the defensive plan to shut down the Dogs right edge or a difference in enthusiam between the different sides of the ruck.

I was initially OK with our long kicking game, but on refection it was not up to scratch. There was only one kick where the ball and the pressure arrived at the same time and it resulted in Kiraz spilling his lollies. Most of the other long kicks did not move any of the back three around. On a dry track we would have been struggling for field position.

Interesting that the whistle blower considered mitigating circumstances outweighed the forceful contact on May's head. In the Seyfarth incident the player was also falling after being hit by Twal and the contact was incidental - definitely not forceful. I don't think Seyfarth has too much to worry about.

AD stood out to me for two reasons. He was great on both sides of the ball most of the game. He took the opportunisties with both hands and made some good defensive reads. His effort plays were certainly better than they have been historically. However, he still has lazy moments in defence. If it isn't "in his lane" he lets it go. To earn what he thinks he is worth he needs to improve this aspect of his game.

Great to get a win in the wet going into the bye. We should be primed for a big one against Manly - we should still be stinging after the defeat at Brookie. I have this one marked down as a W; but we will need to start fast and win the momentum battle to do so.
