IF the Bulldogs game is his blueprint it is a fail. Not because of his highlights, but because of the bits of the gameplan that were asked that he didn't do. The stuff I pointed out that isn't happening - despite a great performance.

AD is playing well - but he isn't, and has very rarely, done the 1%ers on the paddock that we need (or more importaintly for AD - that the coaches are looking at). Line speed, kick chase, inside pressure etc. These are the things that tip games.

Let's just look at one aspect of the game - the kick chase. AD demonstrated on the weekend that he has some speed. He is also a former fullback so he can get up and take a ball. When is AD leading the chase? When is he up competing for the ball? He should be the alternate Bula - but he isn't. He trots down the field keeping the line and doing what he has to. That is not good enough for a guy in a key position.

Luai may not be preforming with ball in hand - but he is doing all of the little things. The ball in hand shit will come - wish it happened earlier - but he is all over the foundation plays that build a successful team

U think the contesting for the ball may have something to do with the fact it was how he did his last ACL....jumping to catch a kick.

youre a Dwey hehee supporter , i hope we dont waste money on retaining him because /hanging it on yesterday , when he was fit and on good coin , being a young leader in the Team , he gave up , .Not only that but spat it ,had meltdowns ,leading .Remember the Eel's game

I wish it was. The reason is he doesn't put in the effort to get to the ball. It is one of the effort areas he puts no effort into.

Where’s the same level of scrutiny on Luai? Fairs fair, AD has proven himself many times this year and we are still waiting for Jarome to do so.

Disagree M, at one stage he was our captain and earmarked for long term leadership, until injury struck !
I think the consistency has come coz he’s been on the ball, which is where he thrives.
For a long time I touted him as a centre, a la Mark Gasnier, but he needs to be on or around the ball to be most effective.
Anyway, it seems like he’s on the way out!

maguire talked him up as the great white hop ,those days AD failed we have hardly seen anything of him for 2 years . But 4 games ,3good when your contract is up before xmas is nothing to hang your hat on. As a utility at the price we are willing to pay is all he is worth to us .Flannaghan may be trying to poach another of ours cheaply buy decoying AD

I didn’t say I didn’t want him (in this instance) I just don’t want to pay overs for a bloke whos been injured most of his career with a tendency to shirt grab in defence. Not to mention to then sign up with an agent who just screwed the club over. (Doesn’t sit right with me)

I actually have a growing respect for his achievement despite his injuries.

As I’ve previously commented, if dragons want to pay overs then go nuts. I think he’s gone because most of our recent signings don’t have contract detail leaked to the media.

I’m not sure you can believe what Dragons are quoted at offering but I don’t think $450-$500k is necessarily overs though…. unfortunately we’ve got ourselves in a pickle already paying two non performing young halfbacks around that figure (and now just got another one) which hurts AD’s claim.
Our best player on form this year, and the only one you can say has actually won us a game, and you want to give him only $350k?

Massive overreaction to a strong game in conditions you rarely see. Try one he created through poor Dogs defence. Second try he held the ball too long and threw it forward. His run away try was great, but he gets run down if it’s not a swamp. His kicking game is made for days like that, which happen what, twice per year?

The blokes a 350K utility.
