Adam Doueihi #227

If true..and most likely it is..it saves 7% on say $500k.Not really material. Not a gamechanger
Appreciate hes been injury prone..and somewhat disappointing in recent years ..but rite now hes playing out of his skin and is EASILY our best player
I dont buy all the BS about potentials and maybes. or alternatives that we may have or mite emerge. sometime maybe in the future...i need delivery rite now.
Hes doing that
Just wanna be assured hes in Benjis IN crowd;;if not ..one of the two needs to move on
And probably isnt the coach given the recent results thank you AD
Richo,,,where the bloody hell are you!
Richo is ultimately framing the offer, obviously after discussion with Benji, so if the figures being touted for AD are accurate then Richos not fighting it !

Who else? why pick on the Lebs? are you racist or something?
No - I'm evidently not!

I am talking about individuals - not any cultual of ethnic group!

I fully endorse the Harbour Bridge protest for Palestine - much respect to Izaak Tago & Mitch Kenny for their visible support!

Wake up to yourself!

Im far from convinced he can be a genuine lock forward.
If I was devising a game plan to keep Latu and Doueihi (and Bula) on the field, Doueihi would have the 13 on his back and defend in the middle but would play right side in attack. Latu would defend right half position but be the first receiver in attack, some might call it a ball playing lock role but it is more of a true halfback role. I think Latu is a natural first receiver and Doueihi is not, more a second received.
Now I mention Bula because I think for this to work he needs to be a constant presence up the middle 3rd be it taking hit ups when required, as an inside runner for the 2nd receivers or a support runner for the forwards or if Latu wants to take on the line.
Now I appreciate this would put a big workload on Doueihi. One I'm not sure he is capable of doing for 80minutes to be honest. I think you vary between starting him on the bench and playing a genuine middle forward for the first 15-20 or starting him and attacking edges early before trying to run through their middle late in the half. This is where Api should be thriving with Latu and Bula alongside him.

Nothing personal either but what someone else is earning should have no bearing on what he is offered. It certainly may influence his self evaluation but wasting money on others doesn't justify what we should be able to spend on Doueihi. I'd put this alongside the "loves the club" type arguments.
So we keep him as a mister fixit. Always handy, especially in a club like ours.
Local junior, been to hell and back injury wise, been moved around but 1. he’s learnt how to tackle , 2.runs straight and sets up those around him, 3.has a kicking game inc goal kicking and 4.hates losing.
Sounds pretty good to me.!

For how much?

He has one offer of 350K - and one for 500K.... same 2 year term.

How much would you increase it to?

Given the BS "local junior" narrative (same "local" junior who went straight to Souths and only came back because of Latrell pushing him out) and has been available for less than 50% of eligible games since he signed...

The club has shown more than enough loyalty - we don't need to match the Dragons offer and ruin our cap balance for a guy who only pulls out his best efforts when marketing himself!

Your 20 years of business in the pacific didn't benefit your basic understanding of supply-demand economics or toxic employees did it?

Stop listening to commentary so much. Our forwards showed up versus Roosters and Bulldogs and gave our halves time to play, which they did well.

That doesn’t necessarily equate to a massive contract upgrade, it just means we need our forwards going well.
Don't need" commentary "to form my opinion thanks very much
..just facts.
Hes been our best for the past month, even those games where our forwards didn't turn up
And no one..cough...is recommending a ..quote " massive contract upgrade".Pretty extreme
I'm just looking at his recent performances relative to what the market value appears to be,and am thinking it's more than $350k which we're supposedly offering
And given what were currently paying our incumbent halves...he seems at say $500 x 2 like a more proven and sensible investment than Bud,Latu and even luai
He wld be a loss

Have you watched the Wests Tigers play their last 4 games by any chance ?
You must have been on the drink with Richo and missed them ?
We just had our best win in the past 10 years, our local junior playing halfback led the way and was a stand out man of the match by everyone who watched the game, now we don’t want him as our halfback and we want him gone to another club.
Talk about madness

5/ up until 4 weeks ago he has shown no consistency or leadership qualities (on field) in his time here

It's clear AD wants to stay, just depends on what we're willing to play.

I don't think AD is the guy the Dragons think he will be for them.

I’m not knocking the result and he had a great game but I’d doubt douehi dominates on a flat dry track. The conditions took their pack out of it. He threw an obvious forward pass to almost butcher our first try. I don’t want him gone but we have to be sensible. We can upgrade him next year if he holds his form.

He is one of our best players but would he be one of Penriths, melbournes, broncos, raiders etc best players? Dogs didn’t want him either.

We only recently offered Adam Reynolds 700k per season, so obviously we are not convinced Latu Fainu is ready to be our regular week to week starting halfback.
He turns us down, we sign Jock Madden and then all of a sudden we don’t need a halfback ?
This is no disrespect to Latu as he looks to be a very good player in the making, but he wouldn’t be the first quality young player to play 14 and potentially wait a few years before becoming a quality regular starting halve.

Think we wld be having buyers remorse over Madden

An extra $150K per season than the current offer - for a bloke with a 34% career winning rate is DISPROPORTIONATE!

He is an anchor - but you want to pay him half a million based on his ceiling while his basement levels in defence are far below anyone else in the squad & more consistent than anything approaching his best!

Mediocrity being framed as elite is a social media phenomenon!
But you’re fine we paid a few reserve grade halfbacks more (who have done diddly squat)?

any idea on Maddens age .He's good depth ,sadly on a position we are wasting $s helping Souths with
25.A proven fringe 1st graders at best, with little upside
Think we're paying $400 of Buds $ 550 to play at Bunnies next 2 years
Numbers don't make sense
I wld have called Bud back home or ask him to stump up the majority if he chooses to be a bunny
Think he was bought b4 ADs recent form

He shopped himself to the Bulldogs last year because he doesn't want to be a utility - and only makes effort plays when he is putting himself in the shop window!

He has zero care for this club - and it would be best for both parties to move on!

He should take the money on offer at Saints - because that is the biggest offer he'll ever get!
That’s the biggest load of tripe I’ve read on here. 🤣🤣🤣

You just said he’s one of our best players but you don’t want him?

We should offer Adam such big money that he can't say no. We may have to lose a few Fainus in the process but we can just ask Mrs Fainu to give us more. And add a clause where if Shane Richardson kisses Adam's ring finger then it activates a get-out clause.

What I can’t get over is after this weekend Adam Doueihi is the next Andrew Johns.
And Latu Fainu now isn’t up to being a starting half in our team.
And of cause Brett Naden is a promising centre again.
What a difference a win makes to people’s opinions,
But I should remember that will all change again in the near future.
Congrats on receiving the exaggeration of the week award.
NO ONE has said any of this bullshit you drop.

I don't think we offed Adam Reynolds anything at all

Aspiring to top 4 means recruiting top 4 level players.

I didn’t say I didn’t want him (in this instance) I just don’t want to pay overs for a bloke whos been injured most of his career with a tendency to shirt grab in defence. Not to mention to then sign up with an agent who just screwed the club over. (Doesn’t sit right with me)

I actually have a growing respect for his achievement despite his injuries.

As I’ve previously commented, if dragons want to pay overs then go nuts. I think he’s gone because most of our recent signings don’t have contract detail leaked to the media.
