In reality if he was at the monetary level some believe he would have been chased by another club prior to this as he has been available since November.

If you go back through the discussion you will note that the points of contention aren't about how AD is performing in 2025. Is is about the contract offering to AD, why he should or shouldn't be offered more and his alignment with where Wests Tigers are heading.
Luai has no influence on that discussion as it was not about comparing performances; the discussion is about why or why not AD should be offered ore $. If you followed the conversation you would note that AD's performance(s) were acknowledged, on several occasions.
I believe that the reason he is not being offered more is because of his off the ball efforts; which I have provided examples of. This is a key characteristic of the type of player Benji and Richo appear to be beuilding around.
If you compare AD and Luai on output and results this season AD is probably in front - certainly over the last month. It is a different story though if you look at the off the ball efforts and I think that is where the issue lies for the coaching saff and, as a result, the offer you see from the club.
AD is a good player and will find a home with a club that will languish mid table. If you are seriously building a side to get into a premiership window can you afford to carry a player that doesn't do the 1%ers? You can't because that is what seperates the top 4 from everyone else.

He was on the ball and performed - that is what AD is about. It is his off the ball efforts that are being criticised. If someone put a grubber in front of him he would react the same way - but if the kick is not for him he doesn't put pressure on, his kick chase efforts are average, etc.
This is not about how he is playing now it is about his characteristics as a player an how they fit with the team that Benji and Richo are trying to build. He can play the house down, but if he doesn't address the issues in a team that is based on effort he will be the player everyone is tearing stips off going forward.
AD as a centre in previous years was fine except for the two tries a game he let in because of his defensive efforts. Fast forward it to 2027 and let's say that Benji and Richo have built this effort based team and AD is playing 13. Based on his long term form, even as recent as Sunday when he had a cracker of a game, we will be leaking points due to a lack of inside pressure. That will be a weak point that the top performing sides will target. We won't be talking about AD not being able to defend; this site will be full of posts about his lack of effort and how we could have wasted so much money on a guy with such obvious flaws.

Clearly I don’t agree.
Luai has been phoning it in most of the year.
He talks a big game off field then does little on it. The bloke couldn’t organise a root in a brothel so he’s the sticking point…we have one half and supposed leader who is not living up to his promise and enormous price tag and we are baulking at offering a bloke who is displaying more in both areas the opportunity to earn a third of that salary.
It appears once again we will let a non PI walk away. You need a balanced squad. Hive minds do not work.

Yes, but that was not the subject of the conversation. If the conversation had been about Luai's performances the issues would have been front and centre. It was not though - we are in the AD thread discussing the club's offer to him and why he would not be offered more. I don't believe the leaked $350K story - classic IM.
Benji has stated he wants him to stay, but with a contract that matches how he fits into the system. It has nothing do do with his nationality - it is about his flaws as a player. AD will have been told why he isn't being offered the $ he wants. If he wants to stay and be part of the build he can - if he was smart he would build in a couple of performance clauses to get a pay rise at the end of 26 if he meets certain KPIs.
You have been consistent in the narrative that we need better to be a top 4 team. Looking at ADs performances objectively; does his off the ball play make him a player any top 4 club will chase?
If we want to be a top 4 team he makes great depth.
I agree. Halves get the big money. Just saying elite props, such as Lazzo, Haas,etc, are just as valuable. None of those big money halves can perform behind a powderpuff pack.

Well that’s a shame. Adam has won games for us, we’d be collecting another spoon without him. If he’s pushed out it will only reinforce the club’s cultural identity as a rewarder of mediocrity, rewarding those who publicly support the concept that Benji is a great coach, regardless of onfield performance.

I simply don't think we can afford to pay Douehi any more than 450k.
We have basically the most expensive 5/8 in the comp, a halfback we paid on potential so Fainu's deal might be a little backended for 2026 which would be his 3rd year for us. We just bought a reserve halfback in Madden and we are paying for Sullivan to play at Souths.
Douehi gives us flexibility in the backline but I can't imagine any club giving him halfback money. Every club would be giving him utility money.
For Douehi, it's simply a matter of whether he wants to stay at Tigers and if he's happy here.

Cooper Cronk who has recently been at our training sessions, stated last night in Fox that he believes Latu needs another 18 months of development before being ready to lead a team as their number 7 and says he believes Douehi is our best option playing 7 right now.
I’m not sure about everyone else, but I think Cooper Cronk would have a fair idea on this subject.
I have been saying this all year.
Latu needs time. I’m a massive fan been talking about Latu before he joined. But for his body to fold out and him to be right he needs time. I’m not convinced 7 is Latu best position at NRL level either.
Remember that Latu has made his impact it’s been mostly in the middle around tired forwards.
Our team needs an attacking organizer that enables Luai to stay on the left & lets Bula roam with the ability for the half to play right side.
Was why I was keen on getting Sexton across for 1-2yrs as he is an organization halfback especially when the Bulldogs were willing to do a deal months back. Wasn’t against Reynolds as well. We need an organizer/right side player. People are just starting to see/think this way now.
I don’t think AD is that organizer but he does open the field up because he can play on the right side as a direct runner. So he is a compromise that does step us up differently.

I thought his fingerprints were all over our changes on Sunday, especially Douehi to 7. And his commentary seemed fairly pro Tigers.
That’s been rumoured.

AD offers you leadership, goal kicker and plenty of club spirit, but we have to spread our cap over the whole roster and prioritise positions that need the most attention. What AD is worth is not the question you should be asking, the question is what can the club afford to pay him.
Personally I hope we find room for him but if he gets a good offer he should take it and leave

A fine line as who is at fault.
Same with Luai's pass to Sam. Fainu. Did Sam overran the ball? Luai should have passed it earlier?
Fine lines who is at fault and timing or deliberate to get the advantage? Just accept it; a rub of the green that they weren't pulled up. Those calls usually go against us. The opposition usually get away with it.
