Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Keons manager has already been seen with or at the HQ's of the Eels and Dogs .. Manly and Dragons are also hoping to talk to his manager next. .. Here's hoping our recruiting staff atleast get a chance.

Dogs are also in the hunt for Tino .. do the Dogs have an open salary cap .. ?? they are alreay getting Leo Thompson from the Knights next season.
Keaons agent and the Dogs do not have a good relationship... Keaons manager is Tyran Smith who is also Jackson Topines manager and has been helping Topine throughout his court case.

He has no other clients with the Dogs and when AFB became available at the end of last season, there was no interest in the Dogs because of that relationship.

Maybe it has changed recently and they're on good terms now?

Salary Cap restraints is not good to hear, i keep hearing we have war chest, maybe not hey..i just hope we have enough for Taylan May to get a contract
Paying Sullivan, Bateman to play elsewhere. Staines/Naden were on too much for the amount of first grade they played. Hunt is in that crew too at 600k for the next 2 seasons. New recruits x 3 (Madden 350 + Geyer 150 + Smith 150 = 650k) Upgrade to Doueihi, upgrades to Terrel May coming...Taylan needs to be signed.

You can see where the money goes when you think about it.

Seen lots of people talking Krystian Mapapalangi up, what is the upside to him surely if he was that good he would have been picked in front of Staines or Naden a few weeks ago.
Is he pulling up trees in KOE or something?
Has always had plenty of ability especially in attack since his junior days & then was highly rated at the Knights making his NRL debut back in '22 before injury has disrupted his past couple of seasons. Since joining us on a T&T, he's definitely helped our NSW Cup team find form predominantly at 5/8 - some flashes of brilliance without tearing any game apart. Has recently been moved to right centre in NSW Cup, imo to see how he goes as a backup centre for us. Provides cover for all backline positions except halfback.

Geez yea fair enough when you break it down like that..

Apparently the Dragons are gonna go really hard for Tino. I think Flanagan is desperate for an out and out marquee player.
No chance he goes to the Dragons.

He's either going to take the biggest offer (which will be the Bears) or hes going to go to a premiership contender. The dragons are probably the most unattractive club at the moment due to their aging roster and lack of star power.

There's a place for stoicism, and it can be a great trait to have, but the emphasis on it above all else, the numerous biological, environmental and societal factors that contribute to severe mental health, can become counterproductive.

If someone with major depression and suicidality is implicitly told they simply arent stoic enough, it can perpetuate the mental health problems. This is where the poster is correct. Social support, counselling, support putting a roof over their head, medication etc. may be more helpful for that individual.

Another point is that people might need assistance in changing ingrained perceptions of the world to become more stoic. It doesnt come innately to everyone, and not everyone can read Meditations. This can only happen when mental health is destigmatised so they feel like they can ask for help.
I agree with what you are saying.
I see no disagreement with what Weststigers is saying on Stoicism. ..

my 2c Stocisism is a philosophy that can be lived by some, reflected by more. It is NOT a Suicidal coping mechanism that gets recommended, unless you are a particular person where is particularly aligns with them. Bar very specific individuals Stocisism is not a means for dealing with Depression.

I do take solace in stoicism stories, sometimes. The whole book of Job, someone who looses everything, but still IS. A greek stoic was once made a slave, their master started bending his leg harder and harder.
The slave said "if you keep bending my leg like that, it will break".
*snap*
Slave "I told you so". ...
Stoic's are not against bad things, they know that these bad things don't have to define them.

I really wish Schools would teach phliosophy, teach more critical thinking and teach the thinking behind philosophy and history. Our education and civil thinking would really benefit...

Plus imagine the conversations when people light up 😉
