OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

Upon seeing Yossarians post I was intrigued on Galvins stats for tonight to see if they were cherry-picked or something or just incorrect as I only watch the last quarter.

However, turns out it doesn’t get much better at all.

12 runs for 50m, with 1 post contact metre.
0 line breaks, LB assists, tries, try assists.
1 tackle break
0 offloads
41 passes, 50 receipts (7 more receipts than Burton so was more involved)
25 tackles 5!!! Missed
8 kicks for 224m. 4 bomb kicks, 0 grubbers
2 forced drop outs (wow a positive stat)
1 kicked dead
0 errors
2 penalties.

Wowsers. Imagine offering this kid a $5.5 million 5 year contract and having him reject that 😅

At times he looks lost on the field, almost like they’re avoiding him. They try to hide him in D as well and he gets plenty of support in tackles. The trick for the opposition is to isolate him and force him to make 1 v 1 tackles.
Has to be the most overhyped young player ever. So many young guys in the NRL playing better than him right now. Loving watching the Dogs get what they deserve.

Can't ever remember so rooting for the Rooters. I actually like some of their young players.

the roosters win has pretty much killed any chance we had of semis
if dogs had won we could have beaten manly cowboys and gold Coast and still made it
now impossible, we would need parramatta and souths to beat the roosters and we would need to beat manly, cowboys canberra and GC

im not a fan of galvin or the dogs but dogs winning woukd have been a better result

We haven’t won 3 in a row all year, not sure how we were making the 8

Dumb career move from Galvin.
I wonder if he’s now starting to realise the grass is not always greener on the other side.
What’s done is done with both he and Da Silva and they are both now on over inflated contracts that they never truly earned, so we have dodged bullets with both of them.
But it’s very frustrating that we build these young kids from the ground up and as soon as they get to a decent level they think they are too good for us.
Hopefully the struggles these 2 are now starting to go through will be a lesson for our next wave of young talent to be aware of and hopefully realise that showing loyalty to the club that made you or give you an opportunity is the best development plan for young emerging players.

Too early to declare it a dumb career move. I want Galvin to fail as much as anyone, but if im being objective, there are improvements in his game since moving to the dogs that I wanted him to do here. Only problem is, in gaining those improvements he has lost his mojo (or isnt allowed to) in regards to his off the cuff spontaneous play.
