Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Does not mean that our forwards should have performed better, we just don't have a really strong forward pack, we need a couple that can damage our opponents,
We simply don't, we have a pack of powder puffs, Parra have a small pack but they know how to hurt opopponents.
Spicy...I think we held them in their 20-30m multiple times only to lose the advantage out wide or with Cliffords boot.

At 28-16 with 15 to go, we looked good. 3 tries in 4 minutes out wide was the difference. Not so sure we lost that game in the middle.

They've simply stopped policing the head-highs since Seyfarth got done. No idea what's happened but nobody is binned anymore for careless head contact?

Is this like Bryce Gibbs where he got 3 weeks for kneeing Luke Burt in the back and nobody has ever been penalised for it since?
Ive given up when it comes to "rules"...there are no such thing as rules, just interpretations that change with the weather... No one seems to care..

Yep some poor defensive errors on the edges + a little slip from Taylan May + some sublime goalkicking was the difference.

In saying that I thought Jason Taumalolo was the best forward on the field. He looked very up for it and we looked a bit passive when he was on.

The lack of consistency from the referees is by far the biggest problem in the modern game which is quite an achievement when you consider some clubs don't seem to have a salary cap or seem to get a more favourable draw for the season.
I love the game but it seems to be shrouded in secrecy and complete lack of transparency

JT looking like a superstar again after 5 years asleep. Pity he chose our game to wake up.

Is Taumalolo an option for us next year? The cowboys would love to get rid of him and his contract. He hasn’t been consistent enough this year for my liking.

BREAKING: South Sydney utility Brandon Smith has been charged by Queensland Police with several offences, relating to drug supply and using “inside knowledge” for the purposes of gambling

Please tell me this has nothing to do with why the roosters booted him & may 🤣 he’s been our best

Its a red flag that noone's allowed to question the referees or referees bosses without punishment...

I'm no lawyer, but I wonder if the gambling money the NRL receives has anything to do with it... Let's say a punter tried to take the NRL to court for a decision (an absolute doozy) that cost them $1mill, it's alot easier to defend when the rules arent black and white and are open to interpretation.... You could make a case that the NRL profit and promote gambling, so they have a responsibility to the punters to ensure that games are officiated correctly... Again I'm no lawyer, just trying to figure out why it is the way it is... Because alot of these issues could be fixed with an overhaul of the system- but they choose not to do it..

Could take a while through the courts and it's likely he gets stood down, so you'd think career over.

Surely if May involved it would've been reported by now

Everything involving tigers is always reported

Report doesn't mention May and apparently is related to events in Qld.

Ok fellow forum recruiters, it's an absolute 'must' now for the club to recruit a depth right-sided centre/wing with experience who can slot in if/when Starford To'a has to miss.

Left side we have covered with May/Turuva as starters with Makasini ready to pounce and Luke Laulilii as his preferential side.

Given Staines & Faataape are leaving, that left Brent Naden in my mind as the one we should try to extend as depth. However yesterday just reiterated that whilst he's a legend NSW Cup player, He's too volatile for our NRL team. In saying volatile, I mean he can still pull off great effort plays but then is too prone to brain fades or missed tackles in the same game.

So scouring the players off-contact, I would like to put out there Corey Allan - experienced, can play both sides predominantly right, consistent, good defensively & covers centre, wing & fullback if required. You would think Dragons would extend but worth a shot.
