Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

The lack of consistency from the referees is by far the biggest problem in the modern game which is quite an achievement when you consider some clubs don't seem to have a salary cap or seem to get a more favourable draw for the season.
I love the game but it seems to be shrouded in secrecy and complete lack of transparency
It seems unless there is a massive out cry from the media that poor performing referees just get a gig week in and week out. The Clown has his own rule book, Sutton has been atrocious for the past decade and the rest are seldom good.

It’s a tough job and mistakes will be made but as a fan I want a ref who has a feel for the game, a ref who is consistent with both teams, a ref who will make the same call with a minute to go as the one he makes early in the game and a ref who keeps a consistent ten. Of course, Refs like players should be held accountable no matter who they are…but don’t hold your breath, Anersley is the biggest problem the game has so I doubt anything will ever happen

Brandon Smith.
Wow.

He's had a few chances already.
The inside betting will be the final nail you'd think.

What an imbecile.
It’s been reported for years he’s had gambling problems. Apparently borrowed money from roosters players to gamble and never paid it back, hence getting the boot. No doubt the drugs involvement followed to try and get out of a hole. An all too familiar story. Very sad.

Ok fellow forum recruiters, it's an absolute 'must' now for the club to recruit a depth right-sided centre/wing with experience who can slot in if/when Starford To'a has to miss.

Left side we have covered with May/Turuva as starters with Makasini ready to pounce and Luke Laulilii as his preferential side.

Given Staines & Faataape are leaving, that left Brent Naden in my mind as the one we should try to extend as depth. However yesterday just reiterated that whilst he's a legend NSW Cup player, He's too volatile for our NRL team. In saying volatile, I mean he can still pull off great effort plays but then is too prone to brain fades or missed tackles in the same game.

So scouring the players off-contact, I would like to put out there Corey Allan - experienced, can play both sides predominantly right, consistent, good defensively & covers centre, wing & fullback if required. You would think Dragons would extend but worth a shot.
Allan seems to play well when asked.

Braidon Burns. Another who's had a resurgence, he cut us up on that edge yesterday.

There's a few lads playing cup that are getting signed up to clubs. Kepoa [Knights] , Graham Moala [Souths] .... few others around that wouldn't be easy gets [ Sua, Tia @ Dogs, few raiders options]

I'd like to bring back Trey Peni [for cup & Culture] and have a look @ this lad at the Sharks [Jets] Michael Gabreal

Superleague wise? Not sure of any genuine realistic options. Maybe Bevan French

Thank you for this

Could Makasini be first drop for left and right centre? He’s been playing 13 in rugby this year and they play both sides of the field. I know he was playing left side only in junior reps.

Can Brian Kelly play right? Told he is free to leave the GC.

I was always surprised Remis Smith went over to the super league... could be worth a shot?

Believe we held talks with him when Madge was around but he chose GC instead.

Bailey Simonsen. Anyone?
@BlackWhiteGold
We need someone with experience to challenge for a position on our right.
Corey Allan and Bailey Simonsen are two that stand out.
Another that could be worthwhile making a play at is Jesse Arthurs, currently out of favour at the Broncos.

it depends on where they plan to fit masi into the side & who plays where. if they want masi in his genuine position at left centre, they may move taylan to right centre with star in the frame too

Just think he would want too much money for a depth centre. Same as Simonsson imo @Demps

But Reimis Smith is a good shout I reckon if he wants to come back to Australia.

Another possibility is Nene Macdonald who is reportedly in Australia after the Salford ownership debacle.
Reimis Smith, Braidon Burns and Corey Allan probably the best three options available to us currently.

shame Hiroti extended with Cronulla, he was probably the guy.

we just need a steady hand to do a job when called upon. the gap between Naden's floor and ceiling has hit us hard and often this year.
