Mavrik Geyer

Exactly and as much as we don't like it the dogs are a top 4 side their defense didn't give Mavrik much room to move, he can't carry the whole inferior pack on his back.

Anyhow we don't care what he does at the riff it's what he does when he gets to the Tigers.
For a start he has a good size frame that the weights room can work on over the summer, if he can get stronger, we could have a decent signing.
Does anyone else think the Dogs defence starts early..1st receiver swarmed every time

Great seeing Mav Geyer getting a run last night. Its a long line at Penrith he is waiting in trying to get a start, he is going to be enormous for us, big mobile body that goes for 80 minutes strong. Getting pumped for 2026

Yes I do. I suspect they are happy to give away a couple of penalties but generally get the benefit of it throughout the whole game. They know the refs won’t penalise them 20 times for it. Especially in the finals when the whistle goes away. They might be able to jag a win in the finals with their swarming (offside) defence.

Whilst on the subject quite a few of their tries come from very flat/forward passes..especially from LG who has a habit of stopping in the line before passing to the receiver who often over runs him
Rarely get pulled up in dogs jersey..its like a superman cape..until he fumbles!

I thought he was every average, didn’t bend the line for me , his defence was good , I can see way Penrith let him go
I see why you'd say that, but I think Penrith as a whole showed absolutely nothing in attack..

I can see that if surrounded by NRL calibre players, maverick can play a role for us.. weve signed alot worse than him in years gone by

Last comment..Geyer.. big body but not a lot of impact
Needs to run like his old man if he wants a career ianywhere n NRL
Thought he looked small for a backrower, height and physicality wise.

Looks like a twig even in comparison to some one like Seyfarth.

I thought he held his own though, he wasn't being dominated at all by the doggies defence.. infact, I was surprised that the Panthers weren't on the back foot alot more considering they were a KOE side .

According to Wiki..hes identical height and weight to . seaforth ...191cms and 104 kgs
We have too many of this body shape already, and unless they come with athletism ...?
Need more power/impact
KPP is 198 cms and 108kgs..and is athletic

I don’t exactly know why but I really struggled to tell apart the panthers players probably because I’d never seen any of them before.

Anyway, didn’t notice Geyer too much throughout and looked at the stats afterwards just to see what did happen. He got the most metres out of all panthers forwards with 13 runs for 95m (7.3m per run) and made the second most tackles with 37 but 3 missed and 3 ineffective (86% efficiency).

My conclusion is that he’s another Tony Sukkar type player. Will do the work and be reliable and consistent but lacks any sort of real x-factor. I think it’s quite likely Mav will be 4th or 5th string 2nd row equal with Sukkar and will probably spend 95-100% of the season in NSW Cup, but will certainly be a handy back up if there are injuries.
This, statistically, he was the best forward last night for the Panthers. Most metres, second most tackles, only a few missed, 4 tackle breaks - 3rd in the team.
Amongst a bunch of reserve graders he stood out as their best forward.

No one's saying he's going to be a superstar, but he seems a long long way ahead of the likes of Sukkar, Seyfarth

The Dogs are offside every play the ball... refs to scared to ping them...
