LIVE GAME Round 26 v Raiders

Live Game Discussion
Sorry, have not seen earlier posts. But turning point was the Hunt penalty in 2nd half followed up by another dumb penalty for Raiders try.
Have complained about this for a while but today's game is the best example of my complaints
1. no constructive kicking game
2. poor tackling. poor reads in defence.
3.lack of options in the final attacking area.

We need to hire a tackling coach, kicking coach, strength coach.
Argree with your 3 points. We lack structure to to take us through sets and get to the kick. We like helter skelter footy which looks good when it comes off, but are not going up the table with this kind of game plan. Top teams have structure and big kicking game.

Maybe not to you.
Benji did say a few weeks back.he wants to finish as high up the ladder as possible
Be a real bummer to end up at 15th after our good form over the past month. Just a shame Souths, Parra and the Cowboys all decided to start playing well too! Souths and the Cowboys having byes in the last 2 rounds is not helping either.

Good effort today especially in defense we were always going to be up against it in this game with the Raiders attempting to finish 1st the old unconscious bias coming into effect affecting the refs.

Only thing I thought could have been a lot better was the 2nd half with the wind, where was the floating bombs that create the 50/50 chance of gaining possession.

That was a difficult game today, I'm proud of the boy's effort they really have improved from last season previously the sea would have parted and a flogging would have resulted now let's finish off the season with a win.
I agree RHS.

Effort was there and we were right in the game until their last try in the 76th minute.

Aside from the weight of possession against us from the one-sided officiating, our bench & use of the bench let us down once again.

I noticed our middles reached their gas limit with 5 to go which caused the final try. With the minutes that Terrell, Api, Twal, Pole & Sione played & the defence they had to go through, I cannot understand why we didn't use Charlie Murray for more than 11 mins & actually bring Heath on earlier in the halves with Latu going to #13.

There are so many aspects of referreing inconsistencies all year, the NRL needs to seriously get its act together; imo it really is spoiling the game for us fans!!😤💯🐅
But the officials got it absolutely right today. With Abdo wheeled out to handover the shield fortuitously the right team won. Ironically the lopsided 16-7 total penalty and restart count proportionately mirrored the score. No way Abdo and the NRL would want to spend next weekend travelling with the shield to Redcliffe then maybe down to Melbourne. Good result, Rugby League was the winner.

We played with effort and in the most part defended aggressively and well. Dropped off in the last 10 mins where we stopped slowing them down and didn’t get up off the ground etc allowing them way too much momentum. Again a few too many errors that we struggled to defend cost us.
All season i have watched us back peddle in D in our 20 - every time we let in a simple try which is a training run from the opposition. When FFS are we going to move up and take their space!!
We haven’t had a medium to long kicking game all season and really need to improve on this.
Last tackle options were poor - need more leadership from halves and Api. Must have a player running off the inside of Bula on those backline sweeps- he nearly almost makes a half break and could pass inside but never has any support.
We are just a few quality NRL players off a top 8 team

Mate when I saw the bench named for this game my jaw dropped, they did well considering they were playing the team coming 1st.

I'm sure Richo has noticed our lack of an enforcer, will be disappointed if they don't recruit someone in this area going forward.

We have lost 5 games to teams below us on the ladder - win those and we are top 4. If we lost titans to make it 6 then we deserve to be bottom 4

I like 2 sports
NRL & international Cricket but one thing good about cricket is that match officials have little bearing on the result especially with the quality of the umpires and DRS
Cant say the same about NRL
Pens and repeat sets today favour the home team 16-7
Would have been worse but for a couple of successful captains challenges
Cant tell me this very much Rookie ref wasn't influenced by the massive partisan crowd .
We copped the only Disruptor penalty this year
No way that call would be made against a top team
Probably the one and only this year
Nrl at times lack credibility
We lost also because of 2nd half errors and terrible kicking game
Miss Douehi there !

Why should any team be presented any trophy before end of regular season. This game exposes the NRL'S bullshit aproach to our game. It’s our game???? I think not. Well done Raiders coz they have lived what our Tigers are living. Benji get on the phone to Ricky. Cooper Crank your shit, is talking and doing my head. Hope he steers well clear of the Tigers
Reasons ; Try home game, unable to be caught, sense of occasion. They earnt it and I say well done to the League for taking the trophy to Canberra. Good for the game, and their fans
Or would you rather see them presented with it at Kayo Stadium, Redcliffe next week. Now that would be exciting !

The disruptor rule is just a bad rule. If the definition is that a player pretends to catch the ball, then every dummy pass should be a penalty, because they pretend to pass the ball ?
Firstly, it is a stupid rule.

Secondly, It’s a total interpretation and shouldn’t be in the bunkers scope to adjudicate on. Unlike knock-ons, tries, off sides or high tackles where there is clear evidence. This is someone making a judgement on the players intent because of where their eyes are looking or distance to the ball? Seriously?
It makes no sense that they can run on that but not forward passes.
