Incorrect my view on what is required with our recruitment strategy has remained the same.
One back such as Jake Averillo or Jesse Athurs who would add attacking threat, speed and versatility. One utility forward such as Siosifa Talakai or Ray Stone who would add much needed leg speed, aggression on both sides of the ball and versatility. One good quality tough middle forward such as Braden Hamlin-Uele or Davvy Moale.

Not sure I agree Arthurs or Averillo make a difference to our backline, but I agree on a couple of extra forwards. That is where we have lacked depth all season.

Getting run down in our most recent games ironically was because of injury and needing to replace our centres with a utility. One from left field to fill that role could be Connor Treacy. The Dogs are looking for a fullback and he could be surplus for them.

Goes hard, plays everywhere and would be a handy 14.

Treacy, Pole, Sione Fainu and Talakai would be a balanced bench.

Always liked Averillo.
High value player in regards to how many positions he can play.

Him and Stone [or Donoghoe] would be outstanding recruitment.

I hope we continue to add and improve the roster because it's essential.

We are so close, yet currently so far from becoming a genuine top 8 quality roster who has the potential to be top 4 and premiership contenders.
Three recruits who are just good quality NRL players to add to our top 17 would make the world of difference.
This would mean players such as To’a, possibly Skelton if Makasini overtakes him, Huny and Seyfarth would all likely miss out on our top 17 when we are at full strength.
I’m sure those players would be disappointed, but it would mean our depth is good and mean they would need to raise their game and become more consistent to demand a regular NRL position.

Nothing worth mentioning.
But reminds me of Taylan May type of player, who was a winger!

And was a fullback until Logan Brooks turned up.
And I think Logan has gone off the boil lately.

As a right edge back rower there is noubt KPP is an upgrade.
However we need him to be a genuine line breaking and try scoring threat. He has shown he is capable of this in the past, but he’s become very half paced and predictable in recent times, let’s hope that was just a result of him going through the motions and he will run the ball with much more speed and purpose now he’s with us for the next few seasons.

Newcastle used him like a decoy runner , he has size and strength and is hard to pull down but they never used him like a running back rower crashing through the line , used like Sam F he will be a weapon for us , Sam on Left KPP on right is solid

In one way it's good as he's obviously backing himself to show that he will be even more valuable in 2028. Two years aligns with Terrell May's contract. I'm sure we'll negotiate a $500k year 1 $600k year 2 contract.

Taylan May knocks back Wests Tigers’ $1.5 million offer, wants shorter deal

Off-contract centre Taylan May has rejected a three-year, $1.5 million contract extension from the Wests Tigers, informing the club he wants a shorter-term deal on more money.

The Tigers last week tabled a three-year deal to keep May at the club after an impressive final seven weeks of the season, notching up four tries, three try assists and six line breaks in those outings.

However, sources with knowledge of the situation, talking on the condition of anonymity, told this masthead that May has knocked back the club’s first offer.

The Wests Tigers are preparing to reduce the duration of the term but are in negotiations about his value.

May was given an NRL lifeline by the Wests Tigers this year after he parted ways with the Panthers last year. He was given a $1200-a-week train-and-trial deal at the Wests Tigers and earned another $21,000 in match payments ($3000 per NRL game).

His contract with the Penrith Panthers was worth around $650,000 per season before he reached a settlement with the club following an attempt to terminate his contract.

South Sydney coach Wayne Bennett has always held a high opinion of May’s ability and had him tour the Bunnies facility earlier in the year before he decided to join his brother Terrell at the Wests Tigers. The Rabbitohs are monitoring the situation at the Tigers.

Wishful thinking on our behalf to land him for 3 years on 500k a year. If he has 12 months injury free, his price will skyrocket as he will be one of the best centres (if not the best) in the game. 550 to 600k for 2 years should get it done. Then when we win back to back Premierships with him as the dally m centre of the year in 2026 and 2027, he can get a further upgrade.

You can't judge his performances in a pathetic side V where the whole team not just him on his own limped to the end of the season to pick up a well-deserved spoon.

We are all hoping when he throws on a jersey for us, we get to see the potential he can provide.

When does the other May come off contract in super league? Maybe they are trying to all get together as a package deal for someone? I don’t think Terrell will leave, think he really enjoys the club and where we are going. Could be many reasons why he knocked back the 3 years. As for Nelson, didn’t we try and sign our “wrecking ball” last year in hunt?! I don’t know about Nelson now, think he may be passed it. Feel like there is so much going on in the background…Richo is surely amongst it all. 🙏🙏🙏
