OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

You are right about the others but Benji did him no favours either.
Threw him into first grade years before he would have naturally earned the right and then made better players play second fiddle to him when he clearly didn’t have the experience nor the ability to lead a first grade team.
So that would be where he got the idea that Benji can't coach. 🤣

Going to be an interesting off season at Belmore. I’m sure the post mortem won’t tell them that their spine sucks, which is a great thing. Let them go into next year believing everything is just fine. Because they will be flat out making the 8, let alone winning the thing.
If you can defend like they do you will always be in the conversation though

He had an absolute shocker last night. A defensive liability (looked like he missed plenty or was scrambling) and other than his go to play of an inside pass to Preston, most of his passess barely hit the mark. I watched him closely last night night and his passes are either abit behind the running man or up around head height which really slows the attacking play down. For a guy that thinks he's gonna be the next immortal, he has a shit tonne of work to do. Bulldogs supporters should be filthy at Gus and Ciraldo for allowing Galvin and Isaac to completely derail their season.

Id love to know what this guy is thinking right now. If he stayed at the Tigers, all his press would be positive, he would have finished the year not playing semi finals footy, but he would have finished with a clear mind and ego in tact...he would have finiahed still as the wonder kid who will take on the world. Instead, he has stopped the dancing in the streets at Belmore. Instead of being the face of an emerging team, he is now the face of the Bulldogs derailment.

You know what is karma
He is shit but more importantly when tigers finish higher than dogs next year . He thought he was going to a “Better club”

The players are seeing through the Gus coolaid and ciraldo myth way sexton and Mahoney treated and stupid chopping and changing

The Bulldogs fans hate him and I can’t see him turning it around anytime soon.
I don’t like seeing young kids fail, but Galvin has brought this on himself and must surely now be starting to realise how good he had it at Wests Tigers.
Karma at its finest.
He is not a 7, not fast, passes are slow, footy smarts non existent, kicking game very ordinary. Gus may have a plan for him next year, however if they persist trying to play him at 7 or 6, they will not make the 8. Also don't think he has the ticker to play 13 tends to shy away from contact. The persistence of Gus to play him in the halves must be because he is contractually obliged to play there, I wonder what the clauses in his contract look like. The team talk about supporting him, however it's not reflected on the field, their body language has changed since he arrived.

Without doubt he has the worst left to right passing game I have seen he rarely hits the mark and it’s so slow underarm like a 10 year old

You make some good points, his long kicking game has always been very average, but he did have some good success at times with his short kicking game when he was with us.
I agree he’s not even close to having the mindset of hitting hard enough to play 13 just yet, if ever as aggression is a part of the game he is badly lacking.
While with us, although not what you would call a dangerous ball runner, he did go to the line at speed and was a running threat, that’s seems to have virtually vanished at the Bulldogs.
Maybe Benji wasn’t such a bad coach for him after all ?
This whole Galvin saga is a perfect example as to why young emerging players should not let a bit of good publicity and public praise get to heir heads and have them believing they are superstars before they have earned the right to do so.
In saying all this I think it keeps pointing to the fact that Latu Fainu has far better potential, so we probably got lucky in that sense.
However we have our own issue with the question as to whether or not Luai is proving us with 1.25 million dollars of value ?
Nobody can doubt what he brings from a leadership and drive point of view, his defence and work ethic cannot be questioned, but for 1.25 million you want and expect an attacking genius and he is far from that at the moment.
We will need to see a big improvement from Luai in 2026 to get to that expected and required level of attacking play.

Will Galvin make the Kangaroo tour, he has a lot players in front of him at 6,7 and utility at the moment, can the power of the media and Isaac Moses get him on the plane.
Did Fox commentators give him M.O.M. last night he was the only player on the field if you went by voice volume when saying a player's name.

Australia’s halves should be Dearden and Strange.
Both nuggets, both tough, both crafty, both great defenders. Neither ever give up nor stop asking questions.
They’ll win the World Cup for us.

Both great young players and as you say they play with that tough, aggressive style that separates the men from the boys.
As a combination I think they are a bit too similar, both predominantly ball runners, therefore I think you need to have Cleary or Moses at 7 with either one of these two at 6.
The selection loyalty will probably mean we continue with Munster at 6 for the Kangaroos and he done some good things last night, but if we are selecting purely on form, I think it’s clear that both Dearden and Strange have now surpassed Munster in quality and genuine danger to the opposition.

I honestly do not miss the fox league commentary and Galvin cult worshipping going on there since I axed my Kayo sub.

No doubt Gould will somehow direct blame to Ciraldo, just to protect his image (the one in his head that is).

He wouldn’t be incorrect.
Since he has left, Benji has made better decisions but there’s no doubt he wore a pumpkin the entire time Galvin was in his roster.
Wonder how much that had to do with Benji, and the club as a whole, revolving their entire existence around him. Like an unneeded distraction. And given the way he’s carried on, he probably expected to be the centre of the universe. Maybe a weight felt like it was lifted after he left and everyone finally felt like they could relax.

Kevvie wants to keep his job, so id say there is 0 chance

True - but Galvin is a real weak link in defence - sure he is quick off the line but when teams isolate him they invariably break the line of defence. In the lead up to the Storms first try he came up in the line planted his feet and Chan just ran past him as though he wasn't even there. Quick play the ball and shift to the right and they score. Other than sticking him on the wing in defence i'm not sure where they can hide him.
