They are consistently in the top 5 clubs in this competition and if it wasn’t for clubs like theirs pushing the envelope, the NRL would be dogshit.
They don’t deserve a kicking when clubs like ours, Titans, St George etc are constantly dragging the quality of the code down.

Correct they are always there but never progressing any further (making up the numbers) no doubt id much rather be in their spot then ours but unfortunately its the same few teams winning it-its boring and predictable is my point I guess. I really wanted the sharks to break through but oh well

Some clubs just excell at playing finals footy. Their experienced men are built for the big stage.

Hynes didn't have a good game but I still think he's very good. I really like the way he moves the ball around and he has a crafty kicking game and good acceleration. He just seems one of those players that doesn't quite lift physically in the big games. But I think so much of what the Sharks do well is because of him and I think it's harsh to hold him responsible. Both teams have very good spines, but today Melbourne demonstrated that theirs is truly top shelf. Those little moments of quality were there for Melbourne, where the Sharks spine had unfortunate little errors in their big moments. Not much in these games, I'd say these top 4 teams are also the best spine combinations in the league.

Yes of course I would. They give themselves a chance to win the comp most years. They made a mistake with their halfback and that’s likely the missing piece, their team is good enough otherwise.

Prior to this year they had 1 finals win against the Cowboys since 2016. That’s a dire stat for a team that’s missed the finals once in that time frame. You’d think they’d have atleast 1 more GF appearance in there somewhere

Sharks are a proto Penrith side minus the elite class of Cleary and Yeo. Any of the three remaining sides can win it but the Storm I think might pull it off. Personally I would love Riff to do it again because their success has forced them to lose a ton of players but they just turn up every year

Penrith are making a run from 7th and they are doing so during a rebuild year where they have had to breakdown several guys at once and teach them how to play to their systems in a live environment that saw them in last place at one stage (rd12), before going on a late run to just make the 8.
That forced them to play 3 finals games in a row in front of hostile crowds where their support was minimal.
They are your underdog….

You make it sound like wests would be a much better side with them in it, but completely ignore that these guys left and are playing better at Melbourne because there is likely better development, higher training standards, and greater leadership down there to help them excel.
