Madge

Our roster was so bad when Madge was here his methods just wore everyone down. We were so talentless we couldn’t find success, and hard work with no success becomes demoralising. So it was blamed on Madge. But clearly he knew what he was doing.
The players who seemed to have the most pull at the club did not buy in and the admin backed the players. They were not a squad worth sacking a coach over - especially a premiership winning coach - and if you look at the quality needed to win premierships like the two teams that played tonight - just another dumb decision made by a club that has a long history of dumb decisions.

So happy for Maguire. He's a great coach. I would regard his stint here as a failure, but not because of his style, but the fact he is not superman. That wooden spoon should not tarnish his legacy at all

This win is a legacy win for Madge. He had one of the best resumes in the game up there with Robinson and even Bellamy.

Premierships at Wigan, Souths and Brisbane, State of Origin series win and Pacific championship.

Always felt bad about how things played out here with him. You could see it was beyond Madge to fix this shitshow but you can’t deny he gave it his all.

Not to be a downer but I reckon he had the best squad on paper in 2014 and likewise 2025

The rubbish written and spewed out about Maguire has run its course. He is arguably probably the form coach of the NRL. He was never the problem at WTs he was a victim of it
It was always a bunch of crap.

So happy for him, deserves it.
