Madge’s coaching resume over the last three years alone is incredible. Add in the Souths premiership and his work in Super League.

I like to think of us as development club - our last two ex coaches have gone on to win premierships. Coaches should be lining up at Concord and begging Richo for a start as it’s obviously a pathway to success.

Our roster was so bad when Madge was here his methods just wore everyone down. We were so talentless we couldn’t find success, and hard work with no success becomes demoralising. So it was blamed on Madge. But clearly he knew what he was doing.

The players who seemed to have the most pull at the club did not buy in and the admin backed the players. They were not a squad worth sacking a coach over - especially a premiership winning coach - and if you look at the quality needed to win premierships like the two teams that played tonight - just another dumb decision made by a club that has a long history of dumb decisions.

So happy for Maguire. He's a great coach. I would regard his stint here as a failure, but not because of his style, but the fact he is not superman. That wooden spoon should not tarnish his legacy at all

Just goes to show what can happen. He was on his arse when he left us but since then he’s picked himself up and got back in the game. Kiwis, NSW and now Brisbane.
The motto is “ never give up” !!
