Man there is an absolute abundance of fullbacks in the nrl , and just below . Straight off the top of my head , we could offer Paps 2 years , allowing Brooke’s and oitman time to mature . We could go to market and snatch Brimson from the titans , Purdue from the cowboys , Faalago from the storm. Thats without much thought , and consideration of what’s out there . If thr young fullback who’s playing halves at Newcastle can’t make the switch I’m sure he’ll be available as well .
Bula is a great fullback , and we should do whatever we can to keep him , but if he’s got one foot out the door , there is literally heaps of options Available , both internally and externally.
It is simply nothing like the Teddy situation where we lost him and the guy who should have replaced him in Papenhuyzen.

Richo has his ceiling price , if Bula is not happy with that ,so be it

One would hope that type of behavior was when he was single .. now he is married with a kid .. here's hoping his behavior has improved. Also remember it takes two to tango ..so Mrs Lichha (to be then) was pretty much gutter trash. Plus i dont think the current Mrs Elliott would take that sort of behavior from her husband .. she would rip his left testicle out with her front teeth in a heartbeat .. !!

I know Gus is getting old, but does he really think Bula at fullback and Galvin in the halves is winning him a Premiership?
He is not that silly and he knows there will be an opportunity to sign Kalyn Ponga, Ryan Papenhuysen, AJ Brimson or Jaxon Purdue, so I cannot see him frantically signing Bula as of November 1 when the above listed players either will be available or likely to become available.

Gus Gould has already said Bula could be anything in a stronger team - if he wants him bad enough he will make sure he is remunerated and then it will be up to WTs to decide whether we believe the same and are prepared to back him.

Yeah, was a while ago. Mrs lichha wasn't in the team and to me, that's the issue. These guys are supposed to be brothers. Not sure how our squad would feel about it... If it were me, this would be an Api / romy call

Would be great off the bench for us and can fill multiple positions in the forward pack. Could potentially even start him at lock.

High motor with his line speed in defence and his tackle efficiency really sticking out. He also runs the ball strongly with a nice offload.

I’ve always admired him as an underrated player, I think this would be a really solid signing. You won’t ever question Elliot’s effort I can promise you that.

Like I said I don’t have much knowledge on it , rather than anecdotal shit . It seems others have heard the same things .

In an NRL. Wests Tigers team Elliot is ahead of Seyfarth , Geyer , Twall at lock or bench , his injury was the only reason;Newcastle didn’t have him in nrl side , he has 2 years in him and cheap I would say

you’ve missed my entire point. bula leaving in isolation wouldn’t be the end of the world. him leaving after galvin & tds also did, who were supposed to be our long-term spine members, doesn’t give a lot of optimism for the future of the club. our pathways in key positions are bare now

Other players will come and go - they ae no different. It was only the blind that thought that Galvin was going to stay long term given his requests for a release over several months and we'll see if TDS makes the grade at the Eels before losing too much sleep.

Isn't Bula in the top 10 fastest players in the NRL - speed is one of his assets.

Speed is all relative to the situation - 70 metres out maybe but 5 meters out not so. I have ever seen him use his "speed" to catch a runaway winger.
