Breaking news: HBG takeover

I feel exactly the same way

I feel very very ripped off

HBG has lost all trust now amongst 99.9% of the fan base now. Whatever decision they make and direction they go, who is to say they won't change direction in 6 months time. Fans will have no trust.

Absolute sh*tshow of the highest order!

Like most on here, I have invested a lifetime of emotion & support into this club. To have all that ripped up with no future will be like a death in the family!

And if I see these pricks in person, I hate to think.

Dennis stands out like dogs balls with his silver shiny hair when he walks up the stairs of the western stand at Leichhardt oval to enter the chairman's lounge. That would be the best vantage point to give him a spray.

The Richo report doing the rounds could be a shot at the board but who’s to say they don’t want him gone , they are week people who only back door their own , they probably want him gone but don’t want to be seen sacking him as well , he is to good to be sacked so they let him huff and puff and then he resigns , they win , NRL. Where are you as this shit needs to stop

If Richo walks because these fossils are having a meltdown over a jumper, I’ll give up my membership. I’m not paying decent money so these idiots can have a wankfest and pretend it’s 1978. I’ve said many times that the ownership/membership model needs changing. Does anyone think these clowns would survive if WT members were voting?

None would survive , that’s why it’s set up how it is , they can only screw each other and get away with it

The NRL have got about half a dozen other things on their plate at the moment ..Broadcast deal, Perth , PNG …possible Team 20.. English Super League …

They might be tempted to let this one go and give HBG enough rope ..

If the debenture system was given the flick by the gaming commission and voting done by more modern methods would this not yield a more favourable outcome on decisions made for the club.
Either way, it would be truly member-focused, which is all you can really ask. The fact that this kind of structure can persist in a democratic society in a member-based non-profit entity boggles the mind.

It's been a true eye-opener around flaws with our regulations and the bodies that enforce them. No individual should be able to take control of a member's club with no accountability to those members or a mechanism for removal.

Hi
Just letting you know that the sacking of the board is the last nail in the coffin for me as a 55 year long western Suburbs and Wests Tigers fan. The HBG Group clearly has no interest in the Wests Tigers being successful and as a passionate fan I can no longer follow a club continually run into the ground by incompetent fools only interested in their own agenda.

I realise sacking the independent board and the subsequent media reports as to why it has happened doesn’t look or sound good, but the statement from Daniel Paton claims it has nothing to do with any Wests-Balmain conflict and is because of big decisions being made without consulting the board.
If this is correct it would be very strange as to why big decisions are being made without consulting the board ?
