I met Dennis Burgess at a personal level nearly 20 years ago. We were quite active in his local band comps and were frequently hired for private gigs through his company at a pretty young age. I can assure you all he couldn’t organise a microphone and it was like dealing with peak Ozzy Osbourne. His intermission speeches and his stupid hair were a laughing point in between every set.

The level of amazement that I have that this fella has any sort of representation with WT has concerned me for years.

Someone made a great suggestion when the WT board was being installed, the members and chair, must swear / affirm whatever is a correct word, total loyalty to WT, and decisions made from that viewpoint, not Balmian Tigers or Wests Magpies. Balmain Tigers and Wests Magpies sh#t must be kept at the lower level club administration not the WT. Bringing that into the WT considerations should be grounds for suspension from WT board.

I don’t know, that’s the million dollar question at the moment.
I know many Wests Tigers supporters believe it’s just an opportunistic way to assert their dominance in the power struggle.
It just sounds too unbelievable to be true unless there is some substance behind their reason to dismiss the 4 independent board members.
As BWG and Mighty Tiger have been alluding to, it might be the fallout of an internal HBG / Wests Magpies internal rift / power struggle.
I’m finding it very hard to believe that DB is the brains behind any calculated take over, maybe he’s the puppet and someone behind the scenes is pulling the strings ?

So at the Wests Tigers board meetings what were the HBG reps on the board doing, isn't than the time to ask questions. There are HBG reps on the Wests Tigers board there's no way that HBG didn't know about the stadium deals beforehand.

Spot on. It's not normal. The only acceptable answer would be if the infependant board and Richo were working to organise a deal in some way to split and sell up to Easts Tigers. That would be a 1 million to 1 chance that's why they did it. I could fully understand and would agree with HBG doing what they did, they would want to protect they're "asset". I guarantee that conspiracy isn't what's happened. What has happened more than likely is Romero was ousted, once things settled at HBG and those who ousted her consolidated their positions and felt confident they were safe, they turned to the Tigers to undo the results of the Barnier report, no doubt cause they disagree the Tigers should be independant and are probarbly rusted on Wests Magpies dinosaurs. Its deadset a game of thrones at HBG. I also believe the jersey talk, i think theyre that petty, the reason I do is cause the last 4 - 5 years our home strip was predominantly black. Which is strange cause I can't ever remember seeing a black tiger.

I'm pretty sure it's corporate law. Any sitting board member sole responsibility is to the group or organisation of whatever board they're on.

It is obvious that the HBG were not happy with the internal review and its findings. Also it would appear they reluctantly went along with the recommendations. Only last year Julie Remano ( please excuse the spelling) was trying to pull the rug on the recommendations that were put in place. So now they throw everything out the window by chopping the independent members of the board and revert back to the lame system we had before the review.

If this was something out of the current White House I would not be surprised but to destroy all the great work done in the past 12 months because you basically have a bruised ego is insane. Even if some resolution is found and things revert back to something close to what they were a couple of days ago, our brand name has yet again taken a massive hit and there is a real chance we never recover from it.

I specifically remember being called paranoid when all the podcasts and forums got togeather when the three HBG directors were stood down and there was talk Romero wanted to wind back the implementation of the review. The whole forum was fuming and there were a handful that said the petitions did nothing, HBG were always going to implement the findings. Garbage, Romero signed off on it cause she put herself in a corner when she helped remove the 3 directors and knew reneging on the review findings would bring way too much heat at that time. So other debenture holders get togeather and oust her, wait for the heat to die down, invent a cockemamy story and undo what they never wanted done originally and what Romero was unable to undo 12 months ago. Where are the handful of formers who were telling Joel, Cochise and all the others who worked their arses off last year on the podcasts, petitions and forums to get exposure to the situation last year, calling them paranoid and saying they didn't achieve anything cause HBG never intended to not honour the review. Where are they now. Where's the apologies. 12 months later the proof is there for all to see. It's blatantly obvious imo this would have been done 12 months ago had no blow back been applied.

Yes. It does sound too ridiculously to be true but unfortunately ridiculous actions and statements come out by the ownership board every year since the start of the merger. The ownership board has been shooting themselves in the foot and knifing everyone around them since the NRL team started. It’s ridiculous we are still in the same dysfunctional start 25 years later. With board that has there own self interest as priority number 1 and the on field success of the team priority number 100.
