I hope someone in a position of authority is reassuring employees of the club. This must be a very unsettling time for them and I hope a senior employee has used his/her initiative (with approval of HBG of course) to issue a statement.

I know Richo would want Benji & the players to stay out of this for their own financial security but I wonder given how much Benji, Luai & Api are supporters of Richo, whether we could see any public or private player revolt!

Even the leadership group going to the RLPA privately to say they have 'no confidence' in HBG who then deal with PVL.

Benji is a massive supporter of Richo. I don't think Benji can survive without him TBH.

HBG argues about not being consulted on a stadium long-term contract, but, arguably, they've done more damage in the last 4 days than the total value of that contract. They could have easily fixed this in-house.

We won't have any quality players sign with us for a long time now. You can kiss that top 8 goodbye for at least another 5-10 years.

The only thing that will save us now is the NRL, L&G or HBG restructuring on their own accord, with Richo staying. Confidence won't come from HBG continuing to pursue this direction.

So the liquor and gaming board investigate where a board is not looking after the interest of members.

Surely continuing having to hand over the members money via settlements to people that are sacked because positions are reversed or given the opportunity to sue due to the incompetency of those that have made the decision.

The club members should vote to remove indemnity from directors for decisions that they are not qualified to make where they do not seek expert advice. Some would be less keen to exert influence if it was their own money they were risking

Hypothetical - the new Wests Magpies continue to play home games at Campbelltown & Leichhardt. They have a token little Tiger on the sleeve. And nothing else changes beyond the emblem and the colours. Is that a “new identity entirely”? Sure it’s a hefty do over but it’s the same club simply running around with a fresh hue.

When Balmain changed the name of their club to Sydney back in the 90s and ditched Leichhardt - was that a new identity?

Changing to Wests Magpies is totally different. That’s not a new identity or a rebranding, that’s a different club, an existing club and not my club. I’d walk away at that point. If the proposal was to change to the Newtown Jets or the Wellington Whales I’d feel the same.

What you’re describing isn’t a subtle rebrand, it’s a complete and total takeover. People would not shrug their shoulders and “cope”.

I've been quiet on here since this broke and those who know my posts would realise I usually sit on the optimistic side of things 99% of the time. This is that other 1% and it outweighs the 99% in a big way. We are left looking like a basket case again, due to inept decision making and ulterior motives from the HBG. I have sent my email to the NRL and it has been acknowledged as received. I don't know where I am left as a supporter if Richo leaves and shit doesn't change with the HBG. I fully support all the action being undertaken by us members and fans. Enough is enough!

I would say over half the membership base would walk away too after 25 years.

I only renewed my membership when he came on board due to him having a decent track record of getting clubs out of sh!t.

Tbh I think I'm done following this club if he leaves

He's packed and has a removalist booked on Monday.
