HBG, Independent Directors Sacked

Up in arms much? I thought the only Balmain person still alive was my old man and he's 86 and even he doesn't really give a [This word has been automatically removed] these days since its not the game it used to be. He calls it skirts at 10 yards.

I wouldn’t be worrying over trivial matters such as branding.

But let’s say the conspiracy theory’s are true and we trotted out with a new feathery emblem and minimal orange - you’d still follow yeah ?

After all it’d just be the latest incarnation of our great club.
And Balmain still own 10% 🤷‍♂️
Branding is never Trivial. It’s the most’critical communication tool. Marketing is why you choose the car you drive , the céréal you eat and the team you stick with.
The Joint Venture is a
Case study in what not to do.
Successivé Managements have demonstrated galactic stupidity for two décades. To be arguîng at this stage about how much orange is in a jersey is pathetic and embarrassing. It’s not just old fart die hards who are responsible for this travesty. Everyone who drew a salary under false prétences and failed to exploit the passion and loyalty of the fans and athlètes to serve the Tigers brand is to blame. The Tiger is an apex prédator in the wild. It is predominantly black and gold on top ànd underneath it is white in near équal measure. To all you clueless nincompoops, the Tigers are going nowhere. Deal with it.

As the viewpoint of an outsider, I remember saying about a decade ago that the owners don’t care about winning football games.
They enjoy the prestige of owning a club and the traffic that funnels into their hospitality network.
Some of them hold fantasies of a Magpie resurgence but it’s not their primary driver I suspect.
It must still be a positive strategic decision otherwise a smart operator would have sold the joint ages ago.
Just look at Manly and the Penn family. Absolutely mad management.

Yet it works in Manly's favour. Des kept the board away from the players.

My only comment on what you’ve said is HBG didn’t think it through very well. If they say communication was the biggest issue and it’s clear to everyone that there were two directors common to both boards then blind Freddy would ask why sack four directors off the WT board and leave the common directors in place. That just defies logic and commonsense.
This as well as the apparent lack of any warnings before blowing up an already fragile football club publicly. It’s shambolic.

Nah. You could make a case for Richo, but even that’s unlikely. Definitely won’t be due to a player leaving.
Not a single player.

If say Luai + Bula + May's leave, then we would be a bottom 17 team.

NRL would probably be a bit happy. It would mean they either kick us out OR the other teams know they get a punching bag one week. ...
Yet if people stop watching, then were gone....

At the moment this crap generates headlines=churnalism=clicks. If though it damages the Tigers hard enough that we get the spoon again and don't look like recovering. The fans will tune out.

To cancel a membership you have to send the email to the department at the club that deals with memberships.
Just be respectful/professional, their going to be swamped in emails it's unfortunate and not ideal.
Just remember it's HBG that have put them and the other hard working staff in this position not the fans.
I’d also let the NRL know if they aren’t issuing refunds. It’s perfectly reasonable to expect a refund after what the owners have done this week. We are not getting what we paid for. Luai and Bula unlikely to finish the season is my early tip, which would also probably result in the wooden spoon.

I have just joined because I believe that this is I have been a tiger supporter all my life I'm now 70
I was a Balmain support but now I'm not a Balmain nor a western suburbs magpie supporter I'm a wests tigers supporter
I would hope that the NRL get involved and sack th HBG for bringing the NRL into disrepute
The HBG are making the NRL look like a 2nd class organisation
I've been a loyal supporter all my life but if this is what is happening the Swans may be my new winter sport to follow and I can't stand AFL
Welcome to the forum old mate, hope you don't mind me calling you that because you are more or less the same vintage and similar rugby league supporter background as my self. (I also hate AFL as well as Souffs and the Holman Barnes Group)

You've lobbed up at a very interesting time so strap yourself in for the ride, that's not to suggest that we haven't experienced interesting times over the past 25 years or so but I just have a feeling that this time we are going to finally have a very positive outcome and a very happy future.

Wests Tigers forever. 😍

Well said said loyal. Welcome

I’m sure HBG have got it all worked out …including Richo’s replacement, even if he leaves now .. they wouldn’t have made these moves otherwise
HBG would want the 4 independent directors and Richo gone. Agree, they would have Richo’s replacement lined up. A Puppet.

How's the answer to this question from the CEO of HBG. I have no words. What a complete imbecile

AP: A protest march has been arranged. Are you concerned about disgruntled Wests Tigers fans making their presence felt and making their voices heard?

DP: “I think there’s a bit of miscommunication out there in the media at the moment, particularly in relation to the colours of a jersey, which has never come up. So I just question what that rally is about.”
Is he for real???!
