It's funny how often Balmain gets the blame when they have no real leverage anymore and haven't had for a decade. They virtually don't exist anymore.

The club has been an absolute shit show since Wests Ashfield took control and is anyone surprised when you look at the system they use to appoint their board? FMD, St George dropped the debenture system in the 1950s.

The constitution of HBG means it is impossible to effect any significant change at a board level, which is why clowns like Burgess have been there for over 30 years. At any other club if the members aren't happy with the board members, they vote them out, simple.

Anyway, it's been 25 years, the Magpies and Balmain of old should not exist except as a heritage jersey from time to time, and reserve grade/junior clubs. NSW Cup (like Flegg) should be WT.

Mate, you are so right. There is so much about this whole saga that is not in the public domain and probably won't ever make it in. The situation is a lot worse than all of us know and a lot of it involves the Richo issue which has only come to light in the last day or so. I doubt if the Richo situation is salvageable and I'm a fan of his. He apparently has treated WT as his own personal treasury. I'm not saying he's done anything illegal but, in terms of corporate governance, he's sailing very close to the wind.
I don't know where it all ends up but it's hard to imagine the end result looks much like it does today. I only hope for all of us that WT emerges better than it is today.

I think you have just decided to be accuser, judge and jury as to guilt based on an anonymous accusation without the option of innocent or completely legal. But hey not unusual.

I have only ever known the team as the Wests Tigers. Yet people are calling me a weak supporter for saying i won't support the Magpies if what we fear is going to happen comes into being. Why should I support a team that i have no affiliation with as it was before my time?

And you are absolutely not alone. I have followed rugby league since the late 70s, but have no affiliation to either foundation club, and began following in 2002 or 2003. I don't care about WSM or BT at all. I just Wests Tigers to be a club that has clear pathways (lower grades to be WT branded) and one that players want to come to, because it's successful!

I can try to make sure that as many WT fans as possible understand that this is not right. This failure. We the paying footy fans deserve better and can actually demand better. Beats the people scratching their arse and criticising people for caring about something.
