HBG, Independent Directors Sacked

Vlandys statement really misses the point. Need to email him to point out it's the removal of HBG that is crucial in the club moving forward. Saving the name without removing HBG will do little to keep me on board this train-wreck.
I agree. The more emails he and the NRL get stating it is Wests Tigers vs HBG, and not WSM and BT, the better. He might see what the actual issue is. But as @Tucker (I think) said, maybe he's just sitting tight until he gets more info.

These people aren't going to dig into their pockets to fight a multi-year legal case. You don't always win and in many cases, you pay your own costs.

They will move on because it's not worth the angst.
True, very true...

Yet people are <$%$#$>. Hopefully emotions are not engaged with this.
Divorce, Strata, wills.... People will happily loose more money then they could ever possibly gain and bankrupt relatives and others running off to court.

Seriously everything going to lawyers can happen and both sides are cashed up. That said, hopefully an out of court settlement could be reached and these 3 directors seem to be 'fans' but not black n orange running through their veins fans.

It's heartfelt being a Wests Tigers fan.
Emotion always comes out on top.
But the cold light of day is where facts reign and I'm hoping that somehow justice jumps out.

I have never followed Wests Tigers because of any owner.
I only ever (metaphorically) bleed for this club because of the amazing players who wear the jersey and the coaches who we trust.

Not too much admin has ever got up my nose, as it's the games I go to, the games I share with my friends and family, the fun, the excitement - all these are my reason for paying season memberships etc.
(I did not like Lee H. for the time he stuffed up Tommy's memorial game at Leichhardt.)

How this sorry episode will finish, who knows.
But I really am proud of the plans for the march, for our collective Wests Tigers voices being heard (if not by HBG but at least by the head honchos at the NRL) and also love the commitment of everyone here on this forum where we stand shoulder to shoulder.

Now that's a reason to never give in, both here on the forum and supporting our men out on the playing field.

All very good points.
I don’t think I’ve been this angry regarding our club for a long time.(let’s march everyone)
A couple of things to mention anyone contemplating membership?
Don’t join until we know what’s going on the best way to hurt them,Is financially.(i’m not sure how we stand with getting refunds as this was not what we signed on for.)
Also it will be interesting to hear Benji‘s and Richoes viewpoint it’s very quiet on that front ,we haven’t heard from them yet, possibly they’ll be interviewed on Monday?
Go the Wests Tigers.🙏🙏🙏

Please god no. Looking up their profiles we have an olympian, a Lawyer and an Investment banker. They may have a fair case but this would ruin the Wests Tigers. The club would have to defend a massive multi million dollar lawsuit and then payout a multi million dollar lawsuit.

Also other then Williams, they have no real sporting knowledge.
They were appointed to the board because they were leaders in their field, you need more than just footy heads you need other skills for a superior board to tackle other issues.

It wouldn't be Wests Tigers being hammered with a lawsuit it would be HBG, that could turn out to be a good thing they might have to sell the Tigers to afford the lawsuit.

Can anyone think of any other major contracts that hbg would have been concerned with that they didnt sign off?

We haven't had any major player signings. They've only given the stadium deal as an example. That one i question as to why they are upset - i believe its because its effectively locking in the balmain component of the JV for 15 years....mmmm....

What else? Canterbury jerseys?

Yeah, but I don't think anyone has asked for any settlement or cash or claiming compensation. Certainly nothing has been quoted directly from the people involved. I don't know why you've fixated on this narrative.

HBG triumphs if good men (women and children) do nothing.

Release the minutes…

A few things can help us now …

1 Viola, Williams & McDowell pursuing legal action against their dismissal (has the mentioned in the news they are looking into it).

2 Former HBG directors all dismissed Gilbert, Wayde, Andrecchio & Romero coming forward now against the HBG (worry is they may be gagged due to any of their own legal action against HBG).

3 HBG debenture holder John Hardgrove leading a coup against the HBG cabal. (he has previously spoken out about the dysfunction & poor treatment of other HBG directors).

4 Official complaints made via HBG official channels about perceived bad behaviour of current directors. Look back and have a look at how trivial some of the complaints made against Wayde, Gilbert & Andrecchio were which led to long suspensions. So why can’t similar antics from the cabal be reported, investigated & if similar suspensions aren’t forthcoming, definite case for L&G to investigate again. Surely the exposure of Burgess’ follows on Instagram does not meet the professional code for directors given it’s in the public realm.

Just some suggestions, very possible they are all happening anyways.
Best bet would be o'farrell and the other three independants joining in legal action, though like one of the articles stated, it a purely voluntary position, why would they. Fans like you or I would as if we're wealthy enough it's about protecting something we love, pretty sure Charlie Viola is a huge Wests Tigers fan, o'farrell as well, but the 2 ladies I'm not sure. It's a whole lot of money to throw at a passion project. If I'm the directors, I'm on the phone with Mr Laundy, uncle Harry and anyone else in town to see who has an appetite for it and who maybe willing to help.

This is the outcome we all want, the quicker the better to prevent damage across the club.

A long drawn out process is going to hurt to some degree no matter what the result.

It could also publicly shine a light on HBG over their conduct and dysfunction..,and at least get them to pull their heads in over how they act in the future …

Look … I’ll leave it at that … it’s likely that no legal issues take place from the fired board members in any event…
