HBG, Independent Directors Sacked

Do you think that there is any chance that Richo comes back? Are you hearing anything about Benji?
Apart from the press stuff obviously
This is a personal opinion.

However, I believe if the NRL revoke the licence for the HBG and look privately for new shareholders.

The first person that’ll get the call would be Richo to finish the job he set out to do.

Regarding Benji…. he’ll die before he walks out on this club. Makes you really appreciate him for who he is and what he as done for this football team.

On the HBG Board or WT?
Preferably both - but it needs to be a ground swell from inside and outside of the organisation. I can see a world where the debenture system exists but at arms length to Wests Tigers where clear governance rules are in place for the Wests Tigers Board. But then we just had that - or so we all thought.

I think HBG will need to be forced by external pressure to make a change. The current pressure on Burgess for his Fans Only acconst could be the tip of the iceberg.

By placing an N.R.L appointed administrator. In time hopefully to fully reinstate the dismissed board and with Richo returning as ceo under the N.R.L banner till privatisation to a competent owner. It's the only way now. In a matter of 7 days HBG have burnt the place to the ground.

HBG’s incompetence and penchant for firing Directors has been a thing for years … wouldn’t it have been nice for the NRL to pull their heads in before they went nuclear?

Well…. I think Richo along with the 4 board members that were sacked were bringing success to the club.

It’s clear that success isn’t the judgment of if someone’s doing the job well enough or not…. it’s purely being based on if they follow the HBG blueprint or if they aren’t.

The same blueprint that has haunted our club for the last 15 years and will haunt our club for the next 15 years if we let it happen.
I think they were moving in the right direction.

Are you really thinking differently, Or do you have a vested interest in your thinking and here trying to convince the general population otherwise?

- Either way, You are ignoring their previous track record and some alarming developments
over the last couple years...

Remember when all the HBG Aligned Wests Tigers board Stood Down voluntarily after the review?
Remember the one that was re-appointed shortly after?
(Probably before the new Chair and replacement members)

The board itself has been sued by its (Probably) longest standing member - And he beat them.
There's also something in that.

This Board has been through how many CEO's and board members in the last few years, as well as the ones they've extinguished from the Wests Tigers - It's not coincidence, or 'all for nothing'

Ignoring the facts as they present themselves doesn't make them less worth considering.

I find it odd you run the line of 'maybe Richo DID do something wrong' so readily,
When his Decades old history would suggest he's a bit above that.

But this rabble at Wests Ashfield have bounced from one front page to the next with controversy for the last 2 years, Run the Football club into the dust over the last decade and you're running with 'Maybe they're on the money?'

Please... You're doing yourself a disservice.
That's fair.

I haven't given an opinion on what I think HBG is doing though.

All I've asked is- maybe there is another side to story than the one we are getting so worked up about.

But, HBG are part of the set up. & I want a board/club that runs harmoniously.

That probably means that, until HBG are a minority owner, there is going to be some pandering to their whims.

Well … we just had an independent board that was introduced at considerable effort which was overseeing improvement on and off the field during its short existence…2025 was the best year we have had in a long time …

Blown up though in the most dubious of circumstances based on what they themselves have presented this past week

I know you're no fan,
But the man in the hats comments on SEN about being a HBG mouthpiece and not even getting a vote on a 5/2 HBG Stacked Wests Tigers Board added weight to what everyone here already can see...
Yep. The Board appears to be more dysfunctional than I ever realised. I’ll accept that. In my opinion it took a really elite administrator to stand up to it and while the pain now is immense and I think long lasting , maybe we might finally see some significant change. I can only hope.

I still think Lee and particularly Pascoe could have ripped the bandaid off a lot sooner. They told us often things were all rosy.

Big chance Benji walks I reckon.

I'm not disagreeing.

I am saying that we are a few steps removed from the whole thing.

If HBG feel that the board was doing the wrong thing- WE (fans) can't just decide we know better because...it suits us.

At some point one of 2 things will probably happen.

The NRL might get involved, remove HBG or appoint it's own board or something of the like.

OR, and more likely...

The Tigers will get a new set of Board members & a new CEO, probably appointed through HBG in some fashion.

AS I stated from my first post- I hope it's a good CEO.

I also hope that HBG doesn't move away from the recommendation of independent board members.

At this stage....they have not indicated they will.

2 Chairmans, 2 CEO’s and 6 board members being sacked within the last 18 months.

7 coaches sacked in the last 12 years.

Lee is a small sample to a bigger message.

Anyone who defends the HBG needs to do some research.
* 8 board members (including the chairs), 4 HBG + 4 WT. Plus an additional 3 changes to HBG representation on the WT board.
