HBG, Independent Directors Sacked

We’re getting louder.

We need to keep it going….. PVL has reached out to all 4 independent board members that were sacked investigating the situation.

Lies about the HBG not being notified about decisions will be exploited, given this was the main reason they were sacked it’ll open a can of worms.

I have absolutely no doubt that Richo will get a call soon and most likely Lee as well getting their opinions on it all.

Both men believe the club aren’t operating with the best interest of the Wests Tigers along with the 4 independent directors, but that they’re more focussed on pushing this Wests agenda.

Lee also stated on radio a few days ago the HBG are in no shape to run the football club even claiming he was confronted by a HBG member stating “remember who runs this club” implying that the Wests do.

How can the NRL allow ownership of a club that ignores on/off field performance - it doesn’t make sense.

Everything Richo was holding onto in that press conference that he wanted to say, will be dished out to the NRL.

Combine that with the noise this march is getting with us fans.

I think the HBG are slowly turning into the walking dead.
🤞🏻

HBG were overseeing it all, how much success did they bring
Find me an owner that sacks themself & I'll agree with that.

While the owner chips in $1.7m, however, I assume they can find reasons to keep themselves on the books.

On the other hand, could it be argued that they realised they had made poor decisions & were not afraid to move on from them?

Ok? So case closed then ?
No. I'm not trying to be dismissive of the question.

Just that- we simply do not know.

What the plan on the new structure of the board is, who is on it...who is appointed the new CEO...

They could- as 99% of the people on here seem to want to believe- be awful additions.

Or...they might not be.

If HBG hire 4 independent board members & a CEO like Meilekamp, are we destined for failure?

We can’t see the future .., but I can only make a prediction based on their 15 year track record , their conduct and past lack of professionalism

The more I think about it, if walks Benji & the players start asking for releases & refuse to train them the NRL has to step in.

The continued media hammering is actually good.

As @teddy23 is saying keep the pressure on!
Getting the playing group involved would probably be the worst thing possible.

Imagine if 51% of a playing group decide they don't like a coach one day & the example set by the Tigers players becomes the standard...

After the review last year, where it was recommended that independent board members be hired, how many years before HBG implemented that recommendation?

And how long did it last ?

I wouldn’t say the implementation was entirely smooth sailing when the HBG directors that green lighted it were removed by Burgo and Co

It happens already... When they "loose the dressing room"...

The main point is just keep pressure up on the NRL, L&G, HBG & the players can push the RLPA which I'm sure they are already doing.

Balmain didn’t save Wests back in 1999, they lost their nerve and grabbed the cash (unlike Souths who showed plenty of backbone).

Do you seriously think the Balmain bosses back in 99 said to themselves - yeah we’ve had 80+ years, it’s been a good run - but let’s toss all that away and save our former neighbours Wests 🤣🤣🤣

As for lauding power - financing the Balmain juniors, adding a Balmain legend - Keith Barnes into the name of the organisation etc ... is hardly running roughshod over Balmain.
Souths had no other option ... and there was no guarantee they would get reinstated.
Balmain didn't have to merge with anyone as they made the criteria, and on reflection, should have toughed it out.
Wests were in the same boat as Souths... but without the fan base.
Zero chance of reinstatement.
Don't kid yourself that Balmain didn't save Wests.
Now it's WestsTigers... so accept it and move on.

HBG’s incompetence and penchant for firing Directors has been a thing for years … wouldn’t it have been nice for the NRL to pull their heads in before they went nuclear?
Vlandys is talking to the directors who HBG told to walk, what for. We've been a mess for 25 years with everyone who's had an ownership share in us, it should be blatantly obvious where the problem is by now. Whether he finds a damning piece of evidence or not, we've had dysfunction and instability at our club because of the disfunction and instability in the boardrooms of everyone who's owned us.

They made ‘A lot’ of poor decisions.
But still thought they knew the answer 🤦‍♂️
