HBG, Independent Directors Sacked

I think anyone holding out hope of Richo returning needs to prepare themselves for the opposite. I have no mail, but I just can't see him coming back after leaving in such bad circumstances. Vlandys will do nothing in regards to the HBG, other than maintain contact to keep updated on the situation for when he is asked for a comment. He will do nothing and doesn't give a shit about WTs. He cares about his back pocket and growing the game outside of Sydney. This is why I believe Richo won't return. The HBG will run the club into the ground (i.e. Marshall gone next) and try to rebuild it in some way shape or form, it will more than likely fail and WTs, Magpies or Balmain (whatever the team is called) will exist in the NSW cup. The club is in big trouble and I just can't see a good way in which this scenario will end.
Aged well

Its interesting you say that, because I've asked alot of direct questions of those who appear to be defending HBG and have not once had direct answers.. instead am met with the same recycled narrative time and time again and they are not answering any questions in the process..

Sometimes, people are just idiots.. I can be one too. You can be. We all can be... And sometimes need to be told.. it keeps us in check.

Chammas made a statement that everyone at the football club is unhappy with Richo.... Or along those lines.. So why are all reports and sources I know close to the club contradicting this? Since when has chammas ever been close to people at our football club, especially the new regime?
No one on this Forum has to answer a question just because it's asked.
I used to try to answer everyone's question, but if it was an answer that didn't sit right with the majority on here, I was bombarded by people wanting to rip my nuts of, so I now choose to answer questions that hopefully won't start a riot.
If you think that's being evasive and get the tray bits, it's not my fault.

“Give me one good reason why the football club needs a board that is independent from HBG?”
Is the fact the HBG board are idiots good enough for you?
If not, maybe look at the long list of internal movement over there to the point that the NRL and L&GNSW are involved

I hope this isnt some sort of compromise between HBG and NRL
If it is, that is piss weak.

Surely BOF has been asked to return by V'Landys and that's the only reason he's considering it. Why anyone would go back after the public and unprofessional nature they were dismissed is beyond me.

It doesn't solve the issues though...just a bandaid until the next Chernobyl at Concord.

Well look at that all our fears of the NRL doing nothing has been flipped and quickly too.

Obviously they have come in and told HBG to pull your head in our else.
BOF to be reinstated and possibly some more to come.

Looks like the line in the sand has been drawn and they need to change their underwear

Yes ..I’ll put my hand up there …

It looks like they have acted and HBG might be in some bother
What changes though? These people need to get out of our club. Why on earth wouldnt they just sell it rather than go through this public humiliation?

Mate it’s a first step… and the first positive news our side has had since this thing kicked off …

Let’s see what’s next

This is all about damage control. HBG not in their wildest dreams thought there would be so much backlash to their takeover of the board. The damage to the club and brand name is enormous and will equate to a lot of dollars down the drain.

So first thing lock in Benji, he will bring stability to the playing roster. It’s also a headline that will distract attention from the HBG and is positive. I expect the spin doctors will be working overtime to try and repair the enormous damage caused by HBG. I guess they know that once the season begins the team and its achievements will be the focus and they can disappear again. Just hope back door Benny is just a smoke screen, he is a total tosser

Yes, that was the joke (and why the statement was in quotes) - as in, if they now reappoint the chairman they publicly punted 9 days ago, they would have just given a comically compelling reason why the football club needs an independent board…

Im a Benji guy, but him being extended is such a desperate and embarassing move.
Yes, it seems like a pretty rash decision - what if the team goes downhill and a new coach is needed? Presumably a contractual extension now means any payout would be even larger. Seems like it would have been cheaper to not fire the independent directors and now need to extend the coach’s contract as an act of damage control
