HBG, Independent Directors Sacked

They are.

I replied to a message of yours earlier and referenced an article where an active lawyer went on record to say that a faction within HBG have the goal to bring the magpies back and dismantle the Wests tigers joint venture.

Are we just meant to ignore this and assume their intentions are good? After the actions they took this week?

C'mon.
They’ll only respond if it serves the HBG message

I'll believe Barry and Benji stories when it happens. For now it's a really good way to shut down and minimise the upcoming rally.

Come next week HBG changes their mind. Wouldn't surprise me as who can trust them.

I’m tipping we will know today whether BOF is returning and maybe if Benji has been extended … are they walking those back next week?

What type of mgmt throws a grenade into an organisation which has worked hard under its board and CEO to improve on field and off field results. I have no doubt the NRL are mindful of future tv rights and sponsorship and the private sector will be monitoring how this is dealt with and future governance arrangements at WTs. The independent board members offered WTs a pathway to private sector sponsorship. This was a very shortsighted move which clearly was not discussed with the NRL beforehand.

What type? Not a very intelligent one … you can see that they have been used to playing these bully boy tactics amongst themselves within their sheltered group …but they don’t work very well in the wider world we all exist in…and now a week later they look like they are scrambling to try to reverse most of it..unfortunately a lot of damage has already been done..

The place is crazy. BOF gets the punt for no obvious reason, now he may get re-instated, so if he did something wrong they wouldn't re-instate him.

Talk of Brad Arthur as a possible coach to replace Benji, next hour - Benji offered a contract extension ??

So many stupid knee jerk reactions, just so unprofessional.

Yes that's HBG for you,the most useless group of people you could possibly find in charge of a club.

Did anyone else get a text supposedly from Shaun Mielekamp asking for a suitable time to ring and discuss their membership.

I am guessing that this is in response to my 2nd request for a refund advising that I bought a membership to a football club that was professionally run by an independent board, and what I have received is either defective or not as advertised, which I believe entitles me to a refund under consumer law.

And more to the point, how is this getting out into the media. The place is a circus.

Souths had no other option ... and there was no guarantee they would get reinstated.
Balmain didn't have to merge with anyone as they made the criteria, and on reflection, should have toughed it out.
Wests were in the same boat as Souths... but without the fan base.
Zero chance of reinstatement.
Don't kid yourself that Balmain didn't save Wests.
Now it's WestsTigers... so accept it and move on.
You just agreed with everything I wrote.
If Wests hadn’t coupled with Balmain, there were other options. And had they been left without a chair when the music stopped, I’m sure they’d have gone through the courts (given the history of 1983-85).

Souths stood their ground and Balmain blinked.

Accept that and move on ...

The best business deals are when all parties walk away happy, and with that in mind I suspect Peter V'Landys would have approached the HBG with implied threats in one hand and a sweetener in the other. The ARLC already owns hotels, and is building it's asset base, so the parties have common ground for a cozy little relationship right there. Of course so too does Laundy, so there are alternative options, but I can't see V'Landys handing a business opportunity like this over to a third party. Something may be brewing in the background that leaves the HBG saving face and doing very well out of the arrangement. Wests Tigers Ashfield has a nice ring to it!

Really hard to see a cluey decision coming out of this mob but hopefully he slaps some sense into them.

Who on hear wants the Wests Tigers to be one club in all grades , and the juniors of Balmain and Wests strive to get to the top into Wests Tigers , All Wests Tigers in NRL and Reserve grade , Flegg ,then the juniors of each original club start , make sense doesn’t it,
It’s made sense to me since our first day. I have always seen it as a cringey way to cling on to something irrelevant and divisive. If ya gunna do something, commit to it.
