HBG, Independent Directors Sacked

The NRL don't have the legal power to enforce anything on HBG, that's the issue.

What they have done is scare the crap out of them and effectively force their hand to reinstate the independent directors. I don't know the finer details of it, but I know for a fact this is what happened.

And I'm not sure why you are mocking the rally..

Sure, it isn't the formal process you follow to acquire a business, but it creates headlines.. it places more focus on the HBG... If they cop enough heat publicly and it starts impacting them on a daily basis - then their position on selling might change.

So you can mock the passionate fans as much as you want, but if they continue to apply the heat over an extended period - it can help push the needle.

If there were protests daily outside your companies office, it'd be naive to think that it has no impact on the organisation and its people.. you'd have to agree with that, right?
I’d just call the police and have them arrested for being disorderly.

HBG for life man!

Peace out,

Burgo 🫵

you were trying to explain the unexplainable …you put more effort into it then HBG did…

Why would you even bother ?
Why are 'thousands of fans' marching/rallying/wearing toga's on Saturday?

Wests Tigers plays an important part of my life. Sadly. And watching things like this happen bother me.

Unlike some, instead of throwing things- I want to know why.

And trusting the words of former board members, outgoing CEO's & reporters doesn't exactly fill me with confidence.

So I bury deep & try to understand it.

If you want to throw rocks- throw them.

People address things that matter in different ways.

Seemed genuine.

Sounded fairly knockabout and could hold a conversation.

Didn't push back on me sharing HBG opinions, but was keen to bring the conversation back to the football side of things and the positivity around that.

He has had success under dysfunctional ownership in previous roles.

Yeah the mariners story has me curious although I don't know much about it

This is a good post hammertime 👍, full of genuine heartfelt emotion, and makes me wish I was more articulate to get my words out as good as you've done.
So, all I can do is say it the way I see it.

We all wish both sides of the JV were more united to be winning under the one Wests Tigers banner.

But...I hate to say this, the tail of the tiger has been trying to wag the 90% of the body of the tiger, and that very seldom happens.

Imo, HBG debenture holders are NOT the issue with a shared vision.

The HBG debenture holders and others ARE running us with that shared vision, but they want to stay in control of things and run it their way, which I am pretty sure they are entitled to do.

I'm guessing, the 4 board members that were sacked, as well as Richo, were NOT co-operating in a way the owners wanted them to.

So, the reaction from the Balmain side to the 4 board members being sacked with a possibility of 4 Magpies replacing them is 'let's get rid of the debenture holders in any way possible', 'so we can move on to a "democratic accountable structure''...and...how do we do that...we flood WESTS with people from the Balmain side of the JV and take control.

Then, if any people from the Magpies side dare to complain their told "you're not part of the team".

And I hate to say it, that is happening already. I've been called all sorts of rude names, possibly in an attempt to break my will.
But I will not bend, AND NEITHER WILL THE DEBENTURE HOLDERS as far as I can see.

The march on Saturday from Pratten Park to Wests Leagues club to demonstrate, could well be the start of another war

I hope this hasn't sounded aggressive.
If it does all I can do is apologise in advance, as I had no intention of it sounding that way.

None of what I have written is fantasy on my part as it's all been written in earlier posts on here.

BZN (and the likes of you) are the exact representation of the problem with this club, whereby, due to your misguided loyalty to a brand that is deceased as far as the NRL is considered. You would blindly support an ownership/administration with a debenture structure that is not held accountable for all the failures that have occurred under their watch.

I don’t know you nor do I care to know you but you strike me to be a person that is satisfied with a participation certificate for all.

I’m in it to win it, I don’t care much for participation recognition.

Protest is the only option remaining.

You really think after the clown show of the last 10 years we should all sit around and "try to understand it"?

If you haven't understood it after 10 years, then I'm curious as to the reasoning one would give for the issues at the club.

Throw rocks ? Very emotive

I’m disagreeing with the argument made by HBG to blow up this club ( the one you support) which you defended …it didn’t stand up to the slightest scrutiny at any time and now has completely disappeared never to be seen again whilst they reinstate the people originally dismissed ..i don’t see how they could have admitted their error any more transparently

if that was me that took that postion, I would be embarrassed and certainly wouldn’t continue defending them

Fact? You were part of it? Or Chammas reported it?

I've been a little flippent regarding the rally- true. I admire those going. In truth. I don't admire being told that if you don't go, you don't care/should be banned etc. I know it was only a small portion of those going that suggest that sort of thing- but the 'rage' is, in my opinion, over the top & not doing the cause any good.
