HBG, Independent Directors Sacked

No owner whether it be HBG or someone else is going to pour money into the club and then just sit back, be quiet and have no say in anything.
That is an unrealistic expectation.
HBG has never poured money into WTs.
Only propped up any short fall.
See parra or the dogs for money poured into the club from a leagues club.
We want to be seen as battlers .

Since you love capslock @BZN

THIS IS NOT ABOUT BALMAIN!!!!!!! They are dead.

I hope it gets through at some point as it's a bit of a broken record.

This is about Wests Tigers' success with competent directors. The 90% ownership is owned by members, not just you, not just me, but all HBG members.

BZN is it your position that Wests Magpies/HBG can run the club however they want, because they are 90% owners, and it doesn't matter what they do because it's their right to do it?

Have I understood this correctly?

You are 100% correct and it would be naive to think so

The issue we have is that "the say" appears to be all focused on what's best for the Magpies and not the JV...

Can you understand why that's an issue for alot of us?

1. They aren't "pouring" money into the club if it's making a profit, and it should be the members' voices they are representing, not their own.

2. No one is asking HBG to be quiet, they still need to sign things off and have representation. The Crawford Barnier Report was a good structure. But they were just absolutely mental how they blew us up a few weeks ago.

Would you put your money in and then be willing to have no say in anything ?
They didn't put any money in. Not one of those guys has any financial stake in the club.

They are a non-profit licensed club owned by members.

Why do you persist with this narrative?

If they were privately owned, ala Russell Crowe and Souths, I'd be the first to agree with you.

This is not ownership. This is a protection racket on power and control.

They just sacked a board that turned a profit reducing what they need to 'pour' in
That’s a separate issue.
My previous comment was purely stating that nobody is going to pour money into a club and have no say.
The fans such as in this case may be unhappy about decisions they are making, but it does not change the fact they are going to have input into decisions when they are putting their money in.
What happenss if Arthur Laundy buys the club and the fans are not happy with decisions he is making ?

A private owner wants to make a profit. It hurts them directly if they don't.

HBG is a non-profit with no financial stakeholders. They don't care.

I totally understand why fans are making such a big deal about it, but some of the concerns that continue to be raised such as an ongoing plan to rebrand the NRL team as Wests Magpies is ridiculous and has already been shut down by PVL.
The major concern was in independent board members being removed, they have now been reinstated.
Now there is a concern that the balance of power will be with HBG, we don’t even know the full list of the 9 Wests Tigers board members yet and we do not know if BOF and the independent board members will have a large say or not. As I keep saying it makes no sense for them to agree to come back if he will not have a large say in the decision making.
Then we have Shaun Mielenkamp as our interim CEO. He is a breath of fresh air and he communication has so far been outstanding, surely we give him a chance to prove he is the man to lead the club to an upward spiral.

Of the money being put in HBG only put in about less than 10% of the money annually. If HBG put in 1.2 million a year and the N.R.L throw in 13.5 million a year then the N.R.L would be over 90% owners like H.B.G keep saying and could do as they wish as majority owner. Other thing is in the big scheme of things HBG and all other owners throughout our history have left us massively underfunded. There are clubs who spend more than 1.2 million just in their scouting and youth systems.
