Wanting our NSW Cup feeder team to remain unchanged as Wests Magpies has no bearing on our NRL team and does not mean Wests Tigers are not being fully supported at NRL level.
The reality is by 2030 at the latest, if not earlier our NSW Cup feeder team will be known as Wests Tigers.
So if certain people cannot handle the name of our NSW Cup feeder team remaining unchanged for another couple of years, they are not true supporters and clearly have an agenda.
We didn’t see Roosters and Sharks fans kicking and screaming when their NSW Cup feeder team was or is Newtown Jets.

For the 87th time there is no push for the Magpies except to retain them at NSW Cup level for another couple of years.

How do 'you' differentiate between following Balmain TIGERS and Wests TIGERS.

To me it seems a big majority of anti-HBG followers would feel they are still following the same team, Balmain.
It seems to me there wouldn't be any psychological difficulty in going from one Tigers team to another Tigers Team either, as compared to changing from Magpies to Tigers.
Also 99% of people on here that refer to our JV team refer to us as TIGERS, not Wests, so the Wests part of our JV name apparently means nothing.

I'll have a go at this too. I don't give a toss about Wests or Balmain. I am, and have always been, a Wests Tigers fan, therefore there is nothing to "differentiate". I don't like HBG because they have demonstrated over and over and over again that they couldn't run an egg and spoon race let alone a successful professional sport franchise. If they were all from the "Balmain side", whatever the hell that means nowadays, I'd still think they are incompetent halfwits.

Your question is meaningless to most fans and its relevance is shrinking with every day that passes. It's been 26 years for goodness' sake - let it go.

This is what I do not, cannot, understand. If they are still suffering such pain and anguish from the merger even with everyone saying the Wests part of Wests Magpies for the last 26 years (which is ok, but not the tigers part of Balmain Tigers 🤔), why are they are happy to put another generation of supporters through the same? I don't get it. As a kid, I had a pretty rough/violent upbringing. I did not subject my kids to the same. I did not want them to feel that pain and trauma, so I just can't understand why there is a group of supporters who would want that.

Could not agree more Suzie, I just don't get it, it's not just the majority on here that bend over backwards to show respect towards the joint venture by constantly referring to us as Wests Tigers but it is generally the majority of the NRL Community, fans, media etc. that do the same.

I cite the Official NRL Ladder as an example where teams are listed by the following names:
Broncos, Bulldogs, Cowboys, Dolphins, Dragons, Eels, Knights, Panthers, Rabbitohs, Raiders, Roosters, Sea Eagles, Sharks, Storm, Titans and Warriors.

Every team named after the mascot that represents them, note that there is no location or district allocated to the naming of their team and in the case of another joint venture ie, Dragons, no historical link or tribute to their joint venture partner.

Guess who is the odd one out.

Wests is always included and that is on the official NRL site and appears to be their general stance on this matter, what more could a partner want.

Of course there are the odd ones around like good old Blocker who usually lets slip with the odd "Balmain" here and there, but generally on an official level, it seems that there is a leaning towards ensuring there is a nod to the partners of this joint venture and we are the only team that is not listed like all the others by mascot alone.

I find it ironic that on a supporter forum, especially one that is dedicated to Wests Tigers that there would be people that are not happy with that and even goes to the extent that some have trouble uttering "Tiger or Tigers," the very name of our mascot, one of the most highly prized and regarded mascot names in the world of team sports.

Mate, you say some dumb things. It was the Magpies people that gave up the Magpies branding at NRL level.

We are the Wests Tigers, and the majority support that team and don't want to return to either parent club.

- Wests Magpies and Balmain Tigers are merely brands for teams in these grades, a legacy of the JV partners.

- Wests Tigers Macarthur District Junior Rugby League is funded by Wests Campbelltown.
- Balmain District Junior Rugby League is funded by HBG.

- Wests Magpies Football Club is funded by HBG (basically to pay Epifania's salary, and the lease on Lidcombe Oval).

- Wests Tigers Football Club is funded by the NRL ($20m), football revenure ($10m), HBG ($1.7m).

I won't hold my breath for anything credible coming from you or anyone else holding a flame for the little bird becoming the logo in the NRL again.

They only know that after the board was dissolved and PVL stepped in. Given the lack of rationale to do what they did, I'd question still if those actions were based on that.

Let's hope they start to show some leadership and earn some trust back by reimplementing the report. If Richo was the problem and he's gone now, surely they'd be OK with that.
