HBG, Independent Directors Sacked

Not the best analogy as anyone can paint a house.

Of course they can...
But houses painted by people who think they can paint houses just because they own a paint brush, Never get painted as well as the guys who paint houses because they're skilled in painting houses.

These bloke think because they worm their way onto a board of an organisation that owns a football club, they're experts at running a football club.
History shows they're not.

Not close!

i am attending the first Wests Tigers CEO forum on 20 Jan. I received a members email on 12 Dec requesting interest from members who would like to speak with thc CEO. I responded and and on Monday I received an email outling four open sessions with Shaun; two foruims at the CEO, one at Cambpelltown and a "drop in" at the roar store between 20 Jan and 25 Feb.

I had to send in a question so he is prepared. My question to him is "Under the independent board the club showed measurable improvement on and off the field after more than a decade of failure. What specific evidence can you point to that removing that board will lead to better performance than the pathway the club was already on?”.

I will let you know how it goes.

In relation to the FRG, I sent them the outcomes of the "What Fans Want" deep dive as I thought they would be the right conduit. I received a response stating the Shaun, in the role he had then, was keen to have a chat. I arranged for that to occur and nothing but crickets. I followed up with the FRG on a couple of occasions, by phone and by email. The same crickets chirping. So despite the talk from the FRG and from Shaun as the club's representative I was pretty disappointed in the outcome. It was an opportunity to engage with fans/members with a researched response to what fans felt in relation to how the club was supporting us and both Shaun and the FRG dropped the pill.

When I attend I intend to ask as many questions as they allow over the two hours they have scheduled for the event. If there is something burning that you would like me to ask drop me a line here or message me and I will ask it if I can and report back with the findings.

Cochise, you may want to report back to the FRG on the complete lack of follow up; not much of a representative group if you promise action and deliver SFA.

Ws this one of your threads?
Can you link it Id like to re-read it again thnx Jolls

Will be interesting to see if HBG have the balls to concede power of the board back to independents or whether they'd rather end up with legal dramas.

The minimum requirements are to re-instate the previous board structure.

In addition there needs to be rules implemented to avoid HBG from tampering with the board, and minimum investment requirements (increase of at least 300%) from HBG to show to the members and the NRL that they're serious about their 'ownership' of Wests and want the club to be a success.

Anything less is a continuation in their declaration of war. The olive branch has been offered to them one last time. Time to step up or bugger off.

That wasn't the last agreement. HBG will have control of the Tigers board, but the independents were invited back to the expanded board, featuring more (making the majority) HBG representation.

Are any of them actually coming back. And if they don’t will they elect more independents via the same criteria that they were selected or just filled with their mates

We past your enquiry and all the responses straight to Shaun, we thought it was important enough for him to deal directly with it through you.

I was unaware that he never took the time to talk to you.

Im also unaware of you following with a phone call and email but will look into it mate.

See below

The only one to return is O'Farrell.

Yep, though those positions are still in existence and must be independent* when filled, right?

*seeming as to be from the outside observer knowing HBG I would think

I believe HBG will just restructure the board as they see fit.
Good chance we won't see the sacked directors come back you would think with this mob trying to implement more power.

Hope there is scope for them for a lawsuit, the whole 3 of them at once with hefty ones to cause headaches.

Reads as a way to try and infiltrate the fans and try and make it seem like those in charge are doing the right thing by the fans and members and then show that off to the NRL as HBG doing the right thing by the fans.

The fact that this will override the current one speaks volumes.

Interesting to see who has been contacted, and if they include a lot of the last group, or if it is a brand new group. And not attacking anyone or saying anything negative towards them, just being a bit suspicious, are the ones chosen going to be "yes" fans and basically chosen to try and destroy any fan backlash, momentum towards the attempt to oust HBG as owners.

I know of 2 people who have been contacted and will join - they aren’t yes people.
