They are players with 2 different game styles.

AD is a big body, big boot. Threatens the line with size. Attacking threat. X-factor.

Jock seems to have really focused on being a game manager and doing that job really well. The accuracy of his kicking game was outstanding. Everything was done with purpose and a plan. We will absolutely need that during the season and it compliments a guy like Luai really well.

It's one game, but it opens up the possibility of Douihi at 13 and Jock in the 7 with Latu off the bench. We really have some choice in the halves, form permitting.

Benji gave a hint away during his interview with Cronk and Brandy that AD could slot into 13 however couldn’t see it for first few rounds because Latu was injured for a few rounds.

I think Jock Madden is a more complete halfback than AD. Have to think that’s an early conversation if we don’t start the season great.

Yes if Adam isn't on his game next week it's a toss up for the 7 jersey first game, he needs to show the smarts to let the ball sing when shape and depth presents itself, not hog and run.

Jock will definitely make the 18/19.

- young guys who debuted too young at our club look a year bigger and more confident.
- Makasini might need to play centre, pushing May to wing later this year.
- Javon Andrews is as talented as Galvin without the bad haircut and arrogant attitude. He’s a better fit for Benji.
- Jock Madden was great - hopefully all 7s at club have been coached same way in same system and douehi straightens like madden did today
- We have proper depth now.

Forgot to mention - our momentum changed when Haywood came on. His cleverness around the ruck is excellent. I was never worried when TDS left. Haywood was and is so much better.

Like cmon they aren’t playing schoolboy selection trials. Benji already has the majority of his side for the start of the season sorted.

Madden really surprised me today - and at the risk of getting too carried away - he did an excellent job as the 7 who plays the role you'd surely have to think would complement Luai.

Last year it felt to me like Luai had Galvin being a huge distraction (I'm talking onfield) as well as the captaincy limiting himself from his own free style of play.

Latu is young. Doueihi (to my surprise) actually did the job at 7 pretty well, but I think he serves the team far better at 13.

So Madden could actually serve to free up both Luai and Doueihi.

Sounds good to me anyway...

Could be the best game he ever plays for the tiges, could be a revelation and exactly what's been missing for so long: a genuine 7.

One thing's for sure though: genuine 7 is fun to say. Describes a few of my ex gfs too... 🤪

Champion @Bigscreentv - mate, it's just the one game but I have to agree with you. Andrews is a player with so much going for him. I'm going to love his journey with us.

Kit vs May that's just a silly comparison why bring that into it.

That was a good organising display from Jock be it not against top talent and for years we have been screaming out for a 7 to take control of the team.

Good chance you're right the 7 is probably settled already but Doueihi will have to show good signs steering the team around because Jock will be nipping at his heels.

Agree apart from May to wing. I'd replace Toa with Maks from the first game.
