Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

We would know what money is available still to be spent for each team …should that be a state secret ? I find watching US sports that being privy to the goings on with things like roster building further enhances the fan experience… the NRL also needs a free agent window as well on that point..

Also would be good to see how the Broncos, Roosters and others can have a much superior squad whilst we also spend the same amount of money …the TPA’s ‘s should be made public …if it doesn’t change anything …at least it’s out in the open and we can all see what a farce it imight lead to it being questioned. otherwise it just continues on for decades… you know the old saying - sunlight is the best disinfectant

The players that are being ripped off should know if as well…..although I think this isn’t as wide spread as you think I suspect …the agents are all talking to each other and they know the worth of their players
I started writing practically the same view, but gave up, so thanks @Tom Shines!

Why is sport different to any other form of entertainment? No one ever seems to feel it's an invasion of privacy knowing how much Brad Pitt got paid for his last movie...

I also agree knowing a team's cap does add a lot! When an NFL player signs with a team for X years on $Y per year, everyone then knows if CBD how he fits in the cap, and if not, who will be traded?

We all know Dylan Brown signed with the Knights for $13M, 10 years. What no one is currently able to say definitively is how they are able to do this.

Who do you think will become available? Do they have a 6 or 7 the tigers should get now?

Yes, these are all already hypothesised about; but actually knowing the roster management really opens up what is currently a pretty foggy system that is outdated imo.

Souths wanted him for longer than the initial one season agreement (2025) where the tigers contributed to his salary.

As part of this transfer, he was released from the remainder of his contract with Wests Tigers to sign a new contract with Souths.

I posted a link to the South Sydney website in a previous reply to this.

At least now I know who is Wong...
Yes, we release him to Souths whom agreed to signed him if we took on 150k of his salary, from memory, rather than than the 350k we chipped in last year.

This isn't slavery "Skelton for Barnett is a good trade." you can't trade people. If they don't want to go or don't want to play @WTs nothing will happen.
the club should say to skelton loom you are u signed from 2027 and we are likely not going to play you in first grade in 2026 except for injuries.
He might then find NZ and a potential centre role appealing

Sullivan, 24, joined the Rabbitohs in 2025 on a one-year deal, however his performances throughout the season have earned him a two-year contract extension with the Club following a release from the remainder of his contract with the Wests Tigers.

This news article says that the Tigers agreed to pay “part of his freight “ to enable the Souths extension announced in Sept 25 for years 26 and 27, along with Bud taking a $100k paycut …

Given the Tigers were motivated sellers to move on ,,,it was probably $250k each from Souths and the Tigers given the original deal was $600k per year and he took a $100k haircut

Former Tigers;

Moses Mbye, Q cup - Ipswich Jets
Alex Lobb - Q cup, Wynnum Manly Seagulls
Bayley Sironen. Also at WM Seagulls.
Will these former Tigers mainly play cup?
Daine Laurie, Raiders
Josh Feledy, Manly
Tyson Gamble, Knights
Asu Kepaoa, Knights
Jayden Sullivan, Souths
Junior Pauga, Roosters
Junior Tupou, Roosters
Tommy Talau, Roosters

But then how do you convince Barnett that it's a great proposition to come here when his family are north of Newcastle.

No problem if I misinterpreted what I read. Ain't a hill I'm gonna die on.

Elite journeyman and not a very nice human
what he did to the club while captain trying to get tedesco, moses, woods over th dogs was ordinary. Hasler was keen on tedesco and woods but no interest in Moses.
That season before he left woods was one of the best props goubg around in the comp, his form fell off a cliff at the dogs and never recovered.

All good …. None of us will probably never know the 100% story …

That’s why I call to make it public 😂
Wasn’t it somewhere stated that the 100k we are chipping in towards Sullivan’s contract being evened out by the Broncos chipping in 100k towards Madden’s contract ?
And while Sullivan still has some potential, I’m much happier with Madden.
