It was epic...looked great and inspired the boys.....but we dont like travelling to Cambo....many that went yesterday wont go to Cambo for whatever reason, needs to changeAnd what about the turn up!
CROWD: 17,637 at Leichhardt Oval
I was talking to an old fella at the club, he was saying it was our best team since 2011?This is the best team we have had for a very long time
On paper, top 8 and pushing for top 4
I just hope they can deliver
Luai and AD seem to be gelling well
Bula needs to have a break out season and he has the arsenal to do it
Cambo has been on fire since spoonbowl mate - hopefully it continues. It was epic...looked great and inspired the boys.....but we dont like travelling to Cambo....many that went yesterday wont go to Cambo for whatever reason, needs to change
Yeah they were marching up the field pretty easily even in the first half.Thought our linespeed was poor the whole game. Hopefully that’s attitude and not fitness.
On re-watching the game, was disappointed in a few of Pole's tackling efforts. Fell off 2 or 3 straight up that ran at him. Covered by team mates but will need to lift his standards in this area.
The cowboys strung a few tries together in the second half, but im not too fussed about it. Theyve had a game, this was our first hit out for the year. All the thrashing in training doesnt compare to an actual game. Reckon we were just gassed and they were a bit more match fit. Great first hit out for us. If were playing like this in round 15 with a bit more defensive resolve, which i think we will have, were on for a really good year.Yeah they were marching up the field pretty easily even in the first half.
Better work out how to put the sub-titles on my TVLuai & Turuva are on the Matty John’s tonight
He was there from the Skelton/KPP break backing up down the middle and received the ball.Im with you...he was very good under the high ball, but where was he when we made a break..or when they made a break??
I think hes coasting to his next contract
Either way.hes no Tedesco which is the $$$ hes looking for
They was a big win vs the Rabbits (Moses Suli debut) where Teddy and Brooks were on fire. Next few weeks after were a disaster and think JT was sacked shortly after. That is our best performance in the first game of a season I can remember. If someone can think of a better effort I'd love to know - maybe 2000 vs Broncos?
They were fit, physical and well drilled. Well done to the coaching staff.
I'd bring Bunty in for Seyfarth for this game Jolls, more muscle will help.Key takeaway for me was structure. Structure enabled Luai to play his natural game and hit is targets, including the post. I have banged on about it enough - isntinctive players thrive in structure but look like headless chooks without it. The best example of it was when KPP scored off the Luai kick - he had four options available to him, hit Fainu, hit KPP, double pump out the back or kick.
There is still a lot of work to do.
AD at half straightened the attack and runnign game was strong but his kicking game still needs some work.
Bula made a couple of errors but for the most part was on song - when he hits his straps in this side he will be a game changer.
Terrell looked short of a gallop but did well after being in hospital and WTF, Twally the ball playing 13. Where did that come from? 🤣 🤣
We have a bit of homework to do and we will need to roll our sleeves up in the middle to contain Souths. If we hold the middle and put pressure on the halves with our line speed and inside chase we can limit the effectiveness of Mitchell.
