NON NRL PHYSIO Consultation. I have looked at the LL contact over and over again and can find no evidence that his contact caused the injury to BS. LL's eyes were always on the ball, seeking to make a catch. He is much shorter than BS and was outjumped. LL's arms were then entangled UNDER BS's armpits. I rang my uncle Einstein and he said you cannot exert downward pressure if you are applying upward pressure. He said if you take LL out of the equation, BS-LL = X, then you have a 100kg player leaping high with an extended left leg at the peak of the jump. Then, as the 100kg mass begins its trajectory down to the Earth thanks to Gravity, the left leg is still extended. It becomes a case of did the Force of landing on the surface of the Earth come into play? E=MC2. Uncle E reckons BS would most likely have ruined his ankle in any case, as he at no time checked his landing spot, an error that NASA would never make with the Artemis II spaceship, and he recommends that all NRL players undertake rudimentary aeronautical training in order to mitigate any future lift-off and landing issues. 🏉🚀🦶🦵🐯😂🍿🍻

I reckon we got a couple of square ups that , normally we wouldnt get, being red headed step child of the NRL.
Probably got these because Moses' whinging just P'd off the ref

Once the ball clears the ruck. So once it is behind the player playing the ball. Doesn't necessarily need to yet be touched by the acting half but contact with their hands or just before is typically a good indicator.

I know we’re a day removed, but it still sickens me, the circle jerk Fox Sports perform when he plays. No other player bar Cleary gets the treatment. Except for one little jerkoff who joined the Dogs mid season last year who has the same manager. What is it with this guys clients and the media making false idols of them?

That was my thoughts as well until I looked it up this morning. There is no definition of what cleard the ruck means so the NRL rule interpretation is that the Ref calls go when the ruck is clear so no movement can be mande until that call. See the post for the detail here.

I don't recall the refs calling go each and every tackle so pretty sure it is loosely officiated. I think it is very strange that having the ball clear the ruck is not defined clearly.

If you think my previous comment was saying what Api received, it was not. It is what I thought he would receive. Apologies if it was misleading, someone asked what do we think he gets.

As for differences between Galvins punishment and say Kenny or Couchman or anyone else who apparently has been 'let off'. Well different hip drops have different gradings (just as different high tackles do or any other foul play). Both of Galvins have been deemed Grade 1 as Apis were.

I thought Apis looked a grade 2 given he lost his feet and first contact was onto the ankle of the Eels player. The force was low to moderate so similar to Kenny but not as severe as Couchman a couple weeks ago. From memory (I haven't gone back to check) Galvins feet drag along the ground and some of his body weight is taken by the ground before contact with the leg. Hence why it was a Grade 1. The NRL has also told us the resulted injury does impact the grading (rightly or wrongly can be debated but that is the way it is adjudicated).
I think Api is lucky to receive Grade 1 and to not be missing a game. Probably the fact there was no significant injury has saved him.

As for Laulii. Well I don't believe it should be a suspension (or even a charge) but again the significance of the injury has likely played a huge part in the outcome.
