Middlesbrough missed the chance to return to the Championship's automatic promotion places as they fought back to draw 2 all in a game of three penalties at Swansea City.

Boro took an early lead thanks to Alex Bangura's emphatic finish but the goalscorer then gave away the first of two Swansea spot-kicks which were converted by Zan Vipotnik.

Championship top scorer Vipotnik's second penalty of a chaotic contest gave Swansea a 2-1 lead just before the break after goalkeeper Sol Brynn fouled Eom Jisung.

But Middlesbrough deservedly took something from the game thanks to Tommy Conway, who rattled home from the spot 15 minutes from time after Eom was penalised for a challenge on Callum Brittain.

The draw means Boro's winless run now stands at five matches, with Kim Hellberg's side third in the table with five games remaining this season.

They trail second-placed Ipswich on goal difference, though the Tractor Boys have two games in hand.

Queens Park Rangers' outside hopes of a late charge for the Championship play-offs took a hit as they were held 1 all at Preston, despite a late equaliser.

Brad Potts put the hosts in front a minute into the second half on his 250th appearance for North End.

Rangers rescued a point with eight minutes remaining through an own-goal by Preston substitute Thierry Small.

But the result kept Julien Stephan's side in 12th, seven points off the top six with only five games remaining.

West Ham out of the relegation zone (for the moment) as they defeat Wolves 4 blot!
  • Mavropanos opens scoring with thumping header late in first half
  • Castellanos nets quick‑fire second‑half double to put hosts in command
  • Mavropanos volleys home his second and West Ham's fourth late on
  • West Ham out of relegation zone, Tottenham drop in; Wolves stay bottom

Taty Castellanos and Konstantinos Mavropanos both scored twice as West Ham thrashed Wolves to move out of the Premier League relegation zone.

Argentina forward Castellanos - signed from Italian side Lazio in January - doubled his league tally for the Hammers with two goals in as many second-half minutes, adding to a first-half header from Mavropanos.

The Greece defender then scored his third goal in as many games with an acrobatic effort seven minutes from time to seal a crucial victory for Nuno Espirito Santo's side at London Stadium.

The victory means the Hammers leapfrog Tottenham into 17th place, while Wolves remain rooted to the bottom of the table.

Millwall moved back to second in the Championship as they were held to a goalless draw at lowly West Bromwich Albion.

The Lions moved one point ahead of Ipswich Town, who have three games in hand, and Middlesbrough in the race for automatic promotion before both play on Saturday.

Newcastle equalise in the 94TH MINUTE to take a precious point in the title race, the match finishing in a 1 all draw between Newcastle Jets and Adelaide United

The Jets' Daniel Wilmmering came to the rescue to keep the Jets three-point gap atop the table.
