OFFICIAL Jarome Luai - #295

I would assume tomorrow’s presser is all about Luai committing to give his all this year and next.
Riccio said on 1080 that the big reason he signed was he got To pick his own team . If there’s any truth to that I’m having serious conversations with Chammas and luai, about how he’s not a chiefs player until nov1 2027, and therefore his only priority is the wests tigers .

I would really like the tigers to come out and say they have signed all the relevant peeps cos the media is gonna be jumping all over this buckle up!!
Jumping on it in terms of PNG development best thing since sliced bread.

600m worth of government investment + the NRL commitment. PNG will not be allowed to fail. Looking forward to the refereeing performances in these games

Talk about an overblown story.

A lot of posters have him gone already in 2028, but I think it’s highly unlikely he’ll go to PNG. I think they are going to struggle big time to sign players.
Well I got that one wrong.

While it's not amazing news, I think it will work out okay for us, when he leaves he'll be 31. Should allow us to keep Latu which should also mean we keep Samuela. We can now offer Bula something long term.

I'd be prioritising Bula, Fainus, Mays, Masi re-signing and see what we have left over.

1.2 mill a year is hardly struggle st in Sydney... He is also guaranteed a lucrative post playing media gig..... People trying to make out he is a proper on minum wage .....
What ? On what planet would anyone not leave thier current employer for double the money , when the conditions look good .
These self indulgent comments kill me . “HeS aLrEaDY PaID EnOuGH” Says the guy in a 30 year career . His career is over in 2031. So 5 years time . That’s it … he could end up on a backhoe like Herbert was. Which is fine …. He could end up selling tyres at Bridgestone . He might not be able to find permanent employment for a while . It’s crazy how lacking empathy people can be because someone does something that affects them emotionally .
Especially when we have a stacked halves room at the club . I shake my head

Irrelevant. The may boys want to play together.
We need to sacrifice a roster spot to bring Tyrone here to lock down Terrell and Taylan.
Hasn't Willie Peter's been coaching Tyrone in the super league,? he could easily drag him over to PNG and then entice this 2 brothers over 🤔

Probably a carbon copy of the one he had when he announced he was coming here. Great opportunity, financial security blah blah blah.

He's been good for raising the standards and the perception of the club. He hasn't been a million dollar difference maker with the ball in hand. We lost 6 games in a row last season with him in the halves. He was able to make winning contributions at Penrith with a new contract squared away, I trust his professionalism to do the same here. He's not Lomax. He's done his job and he had the options there in any case

I agree. The clauses are on the club, not him.

That's rubbish, way to twist my words. He can earn what he likes. He can work or go where ever he likes.

Just be transparent and say how it is. I stand by what I said, he isn't poorly paid at the tigers or anywhere he has played in his career.

Work your own crap out, most people say this is good for us because he isn't worth 1.2 million but in the same breath applaud him going to ear more than double that.

So which one is it ???? Hypocritical much ????

He is a mercenary plain and simple just own it stop making out he is just scraping by on Centrelink and food stamps ......

Also don't feed the media the I love Benji shit and I'll be here for 10 years shit

Where I live, old red brick houses are selling for $3.5 million.

Jarome is one of the highest paid players in the league.

These blokes have limited careers.

How many of the hundreds of nrl players that have retired landed on their feet in high paying job

Good luck to him. He's been good for the club and we have a few good halves. He'll love it up there - over a mill tax free and treated as a hero. It'll be an experience. He will still give his all for the Tigers this year and next.

Meanwhile, the Tiges could do with the freed-up money to retain the Mays, Bula and the Fainus.
I doubt his money goes to topping up existing players. The club needs to spend time between now and November putting the bullseye on one target and go all in with his money on November 1.

Whilst I have said I am not too fussed with him moving on in 2028, what does concern me is if it was our favourite debenture holders and their incompetence that has pushed him out the door. If it is them than I don't like our chances of retaining too many of our favourite players after 202

If we lose them then what do we have left mate? We were onto a good thing. Now we are back to the scrapheap.

This isn't about just Luai...

Its the bigger implications...
Yep. I reckon every single player, coach, and assistant will leave.
Oh My God !!!!! we'll have no team left !!!!!!
And it's AAALLLLL HBG's fault.
My whackjob theories that I moronically transform into reality will come true "If we lose them then what do we have left mate? We were onto a good thing. Now we are back to the scrapheap ".
