Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Gee, we are getting a lot more out of big Royce as opposed to what Roosters are getting out of Spencer at the moment.

Looking at last night's stats it looks like Spencer got 14 minutes and 1 run for 5 metres and 3 tackles with 1 missed tackle - 75% tackle efficiency.

Not knocking Spencer because I would love to see him here but I don't think we can afford him with what we will already have to pay to retain our squad that is on the rise and where do you fit him in.
I don’t think he’s better than anyone we have in our 17.

Bit of a side note …but If there is one team that I have recollections of them playing a lot at Leichhardt Oval ..it’s the Cowboys …. Feels like I have seen them play in person there a dozen times at least … Titans seem to be next on the list … last few years anyway ..

Samuel’, plus brothers
Maka
Turuva
Bula
KPP , lock him up as well
Fonua Pole is and will be much more important than some of us realise.
Of all the props 23 or under this year across the NRL, I’d say he is number 1 and not many young props run the ball as strongly as what he does.
Supposedly very close with Bula and their partners/wives are sisters, so you would think if Bula stays, it’s a big chance Pole does too.

We don't have any hard running forwards in the juniors.
Luani Tuifua is a big, tall unit who runs the ball very powerfully and makes very good impact most times he cones on the field off the bench.
He could be our Royce Hunt succession plan.
A lesser known player who I would be keeping a close eye on as a potential recruit who wouldn’t cost a lot of money, but I think would really add to our middle forward depth in that power running capacity is Toni Mataele from the Eels.
He come through their system as a strong running edge back rower, but similar to Lachlan Broaderlow with us, he got caught out defensively mainly to do with his lateral movement. Mataele has since made the permanent move to the middle, has consistently played very well for the Eels NSW Cup team last year and this season and has made a couple of NRL appearances.
At 23y.o he looks primed to be one a much more regular NRL player from 2027 onwards and if he was with us he would quite likely be our 18th man pushing strongly for a spot on the top 17.

Good to see him finding his form again as well. Was worried on latter part of last season

The Storm are very short in the forward department, they will be going hard to rebuild their roster and you would imagine Pole will be in their sights

That’s for sure.
We may have to pay around 700k maybe a little bit more to further extend him, but our current middles are dominant and should only get better over the next few years, I would be trying very hard to keep him long term.

Yes. But they’re now a shit club - and I love it!

We’re the destination club.

Hey Stefano, hope you’re enjoying the shit culture and shit weather down there now. Loser. Hopefully they lose every game. Awesome.

I think Pole’s brother will come to us.

Samuela and Latu will stay. Cant seem them leaving Sione. Manase will also be released from jail soon and they will want to be around him.

I’d say the most likely to leave would be Makasini given the money Rugby Union can offer.
Happy for him to go and make millions and play in front of 3000 people for the Waratahs. Apparently Sua’ali’i touched the ball twice the other night.

Not sure hes worth that tbh..solid but nothing special
I was initially concerned when I heard the Mays salary, plus the Bula signing, that we were going to piss away all of Luais $$ in upgrades t existing players ..Madden is now critical whom werecurrently paying $50k (thnks Broncos)
But in the current volatile market, thats probably our focus shld be to keep the majority of this team together
Every team will be cannibalised somewhat by Bears and Chiefs, and if we just lose the Lualis and Luai we will be ahead of the game

I think we well and truly have a premiership window opening. In effect we have sacrificed Romey to keep the rest of our squad. I think we should promote Brookes as of him and Attard he’s most likely to adapt to centre / wing and be fullback back up at the same time . He might make a very good winger centre and seems to be a real footballer
window 2026 and 2027
big chance this year if we dont have major injuries at business end of comp
tigers are still $21 to win comp
