Latu Fainu #282

Wouldn’t blame him one bit if he looked elsewhere.

Benji has repeatedly given the rugby league equivalents of dog crap in Seyfarth and Tristian Hope every opportunity to play in their preferred positions, in big minutes, while Latu is lucky to get 20-30 minutes, out-of-position behind Jock Madden, a career back-up.
No tolerance for below average 1st graders man, I get the pain when they get named, that feeling of oh ....... no, not these pricks again.

Owes the club for what?
Capt'n Obvious to the Rescue!

Why Latu Fainu, after getting 500k per year to essentally be in reserve grade, heal while injured and play an occasional first grade game gets a sweet deal. Capt'n Obvious says Latu should then Stick by the club that stuck by him, showering us with NRL Glory that hasn't been seen since Andrew Johns won a premiereship for Newcastle.

Millenials are loyal employees right?

You’re right, he should waste away the next 2-3 years of his career playing a few random minutes here and there, out of position while the likes of Marvik Geyer are moved straight into the starting lineup despite not doing a damn thing to earn it and is leaving for Perth.

Anytime Latu had been given opportunity in the halves, he has shone. He’s been healthy for most of this season yet has had to watch while a hobbled Madden is repeatedly selected on the back of a couple of good games earlier in the season.

Most footballers now are Gen Z mate.

I wouldn't blame him for walking if he keeps getting overlooked for an out of form Madden, the apparent captain who has had a couple of acceptable games and is booking it in 18 months, and a fringe NSW cup quality hooker.

This is where the Luai news will cause problems. Latu would be thinking I've committed to this club, I've bought in, and I'm getting overlooked for this seven figure twat who has played like shit since he got here and carried on about commitment and being here for the long haul only to up stumps.

Maybe then we should give him a go in his preferred position as opposed to be playing 30-35 mins in the middle. He’s supposed be better than Galvin, right?

Latu is probably our 2nd-best #9. If you put him in the halves, then you have Hope starting and Madden in the NSW Cup or on the extended bench. It's not our best side.

If we sign Manese next year and he's able to recapture his form, then we may have a better backup and allow Benji the luxury of putting Latu in over Madden.

Essentially, we need a better backup for Api.

So not only are we signing the brother, he’s straight into the team. After not having played so much as a park game in 6-7 years? Good god.

Manase aside as i think it will take him over a year...if ever to get back to anywhere near first grade. I do believe Latu is a victim of Hope being so ordinary in first grade. Even if we drop Hope and bring in Josese we still need Latu to start at 9 and see how Josese goes as backup.
