Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Alverillo , not sure if this is a singing still as nothing from club and it’s been couple weeks , I would like him on board and believe he def would add .
Billy Walter’s , dollars may stop him coming back to Sydney but he has been here and always had a crack , good back up , but think he stays in qld .
Shaun Blore been here was good bar injury but would be solid addition .
These 3 strengthen our nrl team as they are all able to play nrl or Reserve grade , better than all our reserve grade at present , I also feel there could be a few players coming that we don’t know about yet as we need to replace , Kit , Luke , Geyer , and most likely Toa and Bunty , Bunty for me should have been used in firsts more from the start , he looked super fit lost all excess weight and was best performer over offseason , more game time more better he goes , was very good in the trials , Benji mistake for me , we have had players on the bench that were rubbish , I don’t get the Bunty signing now , to come from NZ to play reserves don’t make sense , anyways just my 5 cents worth
It was last sunday week i think the rumours about him started so id say the cooling off period would end by about today??
10 days yeh?

I think the problems with Pathways is there are about 4 or 5 clubs with solid pathways and a bunch with nothing. So while we have the pathways its also everyone else's pathways. Due to our performance and rookie development i can see why people would choose a melbourne or a different club to send their child or young man to.

Yes sounds about right mate , maybe we get some news next day or so , what’s your thought on him coming early , rest of this season , I think it would help if we have the cash , spot we need help with ?

It's all well and good to have pathways, but we need a Tigers playing system from the bottom up.

That way they are not totally clueless when they get a shot in first grade.

We need to think club, not team.

Agree, but the hard part of that is if you lose a few to other teams, they end up with your tactics and strategy. Granted, you don't need to complete the first-grade setup.

I doubt they are keen on letting him go early and he would probably prefer to play out the year there I would assume … they probably aren’t the worst long shot I’ve seen for the premiership this year .,,, can rack up the points

Cronulla makes the 8 every year, and I wouldn’t say they are flush with money, pathways or juniors …

They concentrate on good experienced coaching and having a solid squad though …

I don’t necessarily want to replace them, but I don’t want to pay them a couple of hundred thousand more than their true value either.
If they are here for a money grab only, we should have let them go.
I assume you want better depth so we don’t keep getting belted like we have in 4 of our past 5 games ?
You need cap space to recruit and sign better quality depth.
That is not possible if you keep paying marquee player money to players who are not quite at that level, or if you are overpaying a fair chunk of your top 17 players.
This argument is going around in circles, but we have already identified that true marquee players are good d ough to carry a few bog average depth players and still be competitive, if not win games with them in their team occasionally.
You do realise that we were missing- two of the brothers , Adam D and both centers. Two fill ins

Why?

Long term it will help us build the right foundations. The bandaid solutions for the last 15 years havent worked.

We need a better squad mate … Cronulla make the 8 every year with FA money and pathways and even fans … although they have good experienced coaching and a solid deep squad …

Might depend on the reason he wants to come back to Sydney. If i were him i would see out the year as they are a smokey for the premiership, however if there is a pressing family reason he needs to be back in Sydney he may be looking for a way to come early.

Yes this is true … I don’t know the urgency about his return to Sydney
