Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

With Hunt done looks like the Bunty/Seyfaryh types will still feature. Surely Melbourne could return Blore to us now! Or as other have said even Leilua. Desperation is at an all time high for us. Our season is gone unless some troops come in I’m afraid.

Two of our glaring needs for next season are ...

1) a 1st team quality backrower who is 1st back-up to KPP & Samuela with EXPERIENCE and willingness to be a bench player most other times ...

2) a 1st team quality outside back who can play wing or centre and do a job when required & understand they will be playing NSW Cup on $200-$250k max until required.

1. Any of Shawn Blore, Luciano Leilua or Sam McIntyre could be this if the price is right ($400k - $450k max)

2. Jaxson Paulo or Tommy Talau ($200 - $250k max)

PS. I'm factoring that Averillo is signed, To'a is going & Skelton will not be extended.

Blore, Capewell, Smithies, Mariota, Ray Stone. A seasoned player on a short contract would be handy.

Rocco Berry or Schiller might also be worth a punt for some outside back depth.

I don't want to argue with you because you tend to want to "win" rather than get to some consensus, but in the spirit of debate, what do you think the problem is?

Also, do you think money is always spent wisely? Australia is a good example of a country that blows good money after bad and doesn't use it very well, but does that mean money doesn't matter
Let me first of all say that i do agree that HBG need to put more money into the football dept however your argument for more is all over the place - you threw up parra and broncs as examples of the amount they spend yet they are both failing so i was just pointing out that spending more doesn't necessarily equate to winning more. Your second point is more accurate - yes the football dept needs more money and yes it needs to be spent wisely. Maybe we should be looking at the sharks who don't have a lot of money but are constantly in the top 8 - what are they doing right that we aren't?

If you read my full post, you would know that I never reduced it to money alone. You were just looking to get a win from past disagreements, but in the context of a 10 or 15 year period, the money argument does pan out for both teams.

Your refute of my point is incomplete if you are reducing things to a half season sample size.

Lol - oh OK - go ahead and think what you like - I call out shit when i read it and you post a lot of it.

Friday 12 June, so a couple of weeks to make some moves and bolster the roster if that’s the plan to make finals this year (tigers and finals … hard to write).

FWIW I’d take LL (this year and 1 for Hunt), Blore and Walters - all in a heartbeat - not that I think they are moving before EOFY.

I can’t see Temu / Sam F and LL getting along unless LL falls into line

If Brisbane let Billy go they are mad. Was a link that helped unleashWalsh last year (not hard … run straight and then and pass him the bloody ball).

I know it sucks being a tigers fan but the Broncos fans are in fits up here in Brisvegas.

why would LL request a release from the Dragons because he isn’t getting game time only to come to us to be a bench player anyway?
Not saying I’m keen on him at all, but he performed better here than anywhere else and he would probably be suited to play a bench impact role.

Disclaimer: I don’t want us to sign him haha

Because he would highly likely be starting for us while Samuela Fainu is out injured and if he plays ti the best of his ability would have to be some chance of starting ahead of Fonua Pole when we are full strength.
Moving forward to 2027 if we hypothetically signed Shawn Blore and Luciano Leilua to replace Royce Hunt and Alex Seyfarth, we should be a better team for it.

Sam Mc is an ex who is always giving his all and now has experience, at the right price is not a bad one to have as a backup player. Started out a centre.

I understand why it might work for us, it just seems far fetched that he would ask for a release due to lack of game time only to come here and be a bench player.

Realistically he may start for 6 weeks, then he would just be going into the same situation he’s unhappy with. Or maybe there’s other reasons and he would be happy playing 20 minutes a week with us 🤷‍♂️
