Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

We have rushed to many and got no real reward for it. Don't rush the next lot and develop them correctly and just maybe be play regular semi finals football.
Dont disagree, but with s many injuries, where do we get the warm, breathing bodies to fill out the squad 1- 13 and then 14- 19 from? I really dislike the extra 2 on bench and not being able to play 2 of the 6- waste and they get no game time in reserves.

I mean these guys are depth for a reason... you can't really rely on them to replace the strike of the guys who they're replacing. When you have one or two guys injured you can maybe make up for it but there's just too many injuries at the moment to keep up & I doubt Benji or the club expected to be relying on those sorts of players so much.

We can blame injuries all we want but we are the 7th most impacted team by injuries - having 78 weeks missed total due to injury

Wahs have 84 weeks missed (players like RTS, JFH, Halasima, Boyd), Rabbits 89 (Mitchell, Wighton, Campbell Graham, Elliot).

Whilst only a small sample from a larger pool with teams like Cows, Eels, Storm, Broncos also struggling to navigate injuries - I think it is a reflection of what we have become accustomed to.

We don't have a next man up mentality and we are far behind teams that can consistently remain at the top and overcome adversity.

We rely on players who have consistently been tried in the past to no prevail.

I am not turning this into a Benji issue, but someone needs to take accountability for our lack of depth in key areas or the difficulty back-up players have in integrating into our first grade squad.

If our NSW Cup team is winning games 46-12 and 68-8 at a time where our first grade team is injury plagued causing players to be promoted, why is our first grade team struggling to find talent to replace injured players with?

Is the issue cohesion and adaption to first grade? Is it an issue of not enough integration between the two teams, and training sessions together?

How many teams with greater injury lists are in front of the Tigers on the premiership table at this stage.

It’s not just number of injuries but key players for extended periods

Melb have had their spine nearly all year
Parra missing Moses
Souths missing latrell
Cowboys have had most of their spine all year

Sorry but Top 6 on the NRL Ladder, bar the Warriors are in the top 6 of least injuries (Dolphins/Titans equal 6th).

I think it stands to reason that if you can keep your best on the field, you're going to have a better chance in games.

lol we are 7 and 7 and the dragons will beat us twice ? What a load of wrist cutting nonsense .
We lost that game because we lost our half (who is a shit defensive half btw ) and a back . Meaning our middles had to do large minutes , because we are already down our starting edge backrowers and the guy who was supposed to step up , Geyer , is useless and playing on his last name . With AD back this year our right edge will tighten right up , and as players start to return especially if we get averillo early , we will start to make a run towards the playoffs.
The issue is the comp is lop sided because the top teams have played mainly the bottom teams and have all got wins . As they play each other the win/loss will start to pull much closer to 500, with the top teams pulling away . As per normal .
I listened to Rob crap on this morning about bench rotations it really irritated me . Talking about Murray and Geyer being wasted ! Wasted for what!!! Lanyon is better than both of them, as 2 backs went down that only leaves Pole alternating with Bunty . So that’s 6 rotations of the 8 right there . Sure you wasted 2 , but Bunty was blowing hard when he came off . So maybe you go Bunty and May for Lanyon and Pole then bring May back on. But that’s pretty much all you can do .
Anyways , I think some of you just whinge for the sake of it . Sometimes shit happens . For once shit is happening and we are still operating at a decent win/loss record.
The cruelest thing about Saturday was that Benji picked the wrong day to give Latu a run in KOE. He played great in 2nd's but i believe if he had been on the bench we would have won that game. Unfortunately Heath Mason , tried hard but gave us nothing in attack. My sliding doors opinion.

Latu needs some games in KOE which will improve his fitness and confidence..we also need to play him in 1sts at some stage so we can get his contract rite for next year(or two)
Mason has proven time and again that he simply is unable to make the step up..can score at will in KOE,but out of patience with him.Mite be like Brooks ..benefit from a change of scene
Makasini is in the same situation as Latu, but quite a few years younger so time is on his side. But dont play him in 1sts again this year

There is no Center or winger presently at the club with genuine speed … poor old Maka got into some space for a micro second on Saturday…, he looked about as quick as Sione Fainu …

Hopefully Averillo can help in this department in 2027…although help is needed now
Maka looks like he has gone backwards, I think we have rushed him into 1st grade why to early , he is not the gem that the club was hoping for , should be in nsw cup for the rest of the year , and see how he goes

Agree with all that but think Mason may actually improve by finding a new club or having a couple seasons in Super league. I think ultimately he is a NRL quality player. Hes definitely too good for reserve grade .

......but not not good enuff for first grade unfortunately
Defensive liability ,which wont work at 6,and brittle under the high ball
If u wanna be successful as a little guy, wouve got have some semblance of defence..
