After a weekend of watching some really good skill full football played in wet conditions we get served up today’s offering. It cast my mind back to watching some very average Balmain sides in the 90s. It’s been a long time since I have seen such a bog average team run around. Sure they tried hard but their skill level and football awareness is bottom of the pile. St George will win in a canter next week

Lack of speed is the problem. We had no one as fast as Young, Best, Sharpe, Ponga, or even Lucas. And our forwards are not athletic enough, so they are slow laterally.

You can see that the kid is really down on confidence.

Wasn't much of a chase from standing 40m behind the play*. If he (and all the others) pushed up and presented a line then there would have been no space for Young to run around them.
*Agree he wouldn't need to be standing in the backfield if he was playing 60 instead of 80.

Yeah, and Seyfarth did his best to stop Best as well. Both give their all, as limited as they may be.

I was sick of seeing Doueihi constantly putting up those bombs long before they ran the length of the field off yet another one, to finally put that woeful game to bed.

Once again our lack of finesse in the attacking area failed us,apart from that the effort was decent.Our hard working forwards deserve a huge wrap despite our best 2 being beat in the last try (May and Seyfarth).

I agree. He is actually starting to annoy me. Instead of using his frame to run hard and poke through, he thinks he’s a 75kg halfback. The day he starts to run hard and straight he might get considered for rep but never until then.
