It's time to take the fight back to HBG

The board would and does approve the operating budget of the CEO. The CEO doesn't have unrestricted power to spend funds however he likes, particularly for large sums.
Yes, thats the governance part, there are limits and levels for approval and the largest investments would go for board approval. Day to day operations should not be of concern to the board unless they create excessive risk to the organization

yes - and in the context of this discussion, 500k is not an amount he would spend freely as one poster suggested.

The CEO does not have total control of the finances and must work within the constraints of a budget agreed by the board. If there's a spare $1 million lying around, he hasn't got carte Blanche to spend it how he likes, he must get sign off.

We are not talking about a few pens for the stationary cabinet.

Yeah, that's pretty accurate & what I was saying..
lol … the next time you are right about something will be a first for you ..

Your muddying the waters and asking dumb questions is clearly not helping …leave it to the people that at last have the slightest clue

Circled is;
Ryan Papz
Moses Suli
AD

Seyfarth is next to AD.

Again … Suli was originally a Parramatta junior who we paid an at the time record price of $1.3 million to poach … should we really be claiming him ?

Has anyone worked out how to get more money out of them?

We'll probably keep on paddling until we do....or a 'pathways' miracle.

All I care about is the football club, so some more investment, please.

Is it in their DNA to think they are the 'battlers' of the game, us poor old westies with no money. It goes back decades and decades.

Time to cough up.

And I think the

Another important piece of the puzzle is that Wests Ashfield (now HBG) isn’t controlled by a regular members voting process, but rather with differential controlling voting power which is held by those with “debentures”.

So the entity which owns the Wests Tigers franchise is controlled by the small number of debenture holders
Totally agree but you spelt dementia incorrectly.

I think it has to be seen as a long term option, and it will take time but the first step is to get theball rolling. I don't think there is a a need to stop the external noise though. If well done the external noise could be the distraction that says look over here while the infiltration happens.

However, even if we were to push for an independent baord again at Wests Tigers and were successful we are still reliant on funding from HBG for success; ie, to achieve the pathways goal (for players, coaching and professional staff); to offer more to players that is outside of the cap and to make the game day experience so much better for fans - building membership numbers etc.

The goal (if we aren't sold off) has to be to change the mindset of the Debentre Holders (HBG) from being a dictator looking after themselves, to a benevolent dictator where they willing provide funding, to an them willing relinquishing power to the popular vote. The last one may be a bridge too far at the moment - but St George have done it.

Amost like running operatives in a foreign country - who is going to heard up the Wests Tigers version of the CIA?

For shits and giggles - here is the draft plan for Operation Eye of the Tiger: The Internal Restructuring Force.

No 007 stuff with glamour girls/boys; but enough subterfuge to be interesting! Perhaps we could run a Honey Trap - Do you think we could turn "The Wig"?
Jolls i promise to remember never to upset you.😰

This is the tame version of the plan without the James Bond bits! No need to worry - I'm laid back - takes a bit to rile me up - but our team does it most weeks. If only the TV could talk!
