WTF – Wests Tigers Faithful Podcast

appreciate that mate. thank you for tuning in at a time when I have sub zero appetite for talking about them.

might have to!
Know how you feel.

I haven't felt this despondent about the direction of the club since pre-Richo and have fading confidence that Benji knows how to get us out of this pit of despair.

Seeing the players so disconnected with eachother & some of the efforts of so-called leaders like Terrell, Bula, Turuva, Luai even Twal this week is very concerning.

Our systems are failing - both defence & attack - and we have seen this across all grades recently especially our defensive system. We are the easiest team to score out wide against. It's pathetic.

I get we have been ravaged by injuries & some key players are playing injured but the resolve & resilience shown has been deplorable.

Watching the lower grades yesterday too didn't give me much to excited about. Nothing in NSW Cup except Vaka Aho as a potential late bloomer at 22/23 and probably the pathways player I'm most excited about is backrower Mitch Taotua in Flegg.

Oh the other thing that gives me hope is a Latu Fainu & Javon Andrews halves combination with Samuela, KPP, Taylan & Averillo on our edges.

As a club we so need to announce Samuela & Latu extending to give us something in the short-term and then for Mielekamp & Benji to acknowledge an overhaul has to be undertaken of our football program asap.

At least we have some good podcasts to listen to!!!

How is that rookie halves combination going to succeed when everyone wants to burn the place down anytime we are not travelling well. The biggest thing they’ll need is patience.

Patience and middles that they can play off the back of.

I feel Api & Haywood will be a great duo for them to work with - experience + the future.

Samuela, KPP and Taylan, Averillo will be great to attack & defend between.

Just need Terrell, Twal + another big, powerful 1st carry prop imo. With Sione, Pole, Seyfarth, Doueuhi??? off the pine.

Not to mention an uninjured Bula.

with you mate. it feels like mid 2023 all over again. there’s more upside as I’ve tried to allude to previously but with each terrible week stacking onto the next the outlook gets bleaker and bleaker.

club (and more specifically Benji) needs a circuit breaker. if he’s got that much influence in the joint then it could potentially be the end of him, but he desperately needs an experienced and competent Director of Football outside the 05 bubble (Elford aside) and some assistant coaches and high performance staff that will genuinely challenge him.

it can’t go on like this.

Thanks for putting a voice to the people lads.

Im probably at my lowest ebb with this club. Moreso than the spoons because this is not a spoon side, and there was so much hope and belief to start the year. The wheels have fallen off so quickly and spectacularly im really not sure what the club does next. Players, coaching, identity, home ground, funding the list of problems gets more entrenched and longer year by year.

Very hard to stick solid.

Bula should be good running into space off Javon. We just need him to see it

Hey boys. , I just want to add to what @poopy_diaper was saying around us falling apart because we lost our strike . It’s true about KPP and May , but also with Samuela breaking his ankle , it’s gonna take a while until he fully trusts it and goes hard into steps or putting heavy force on that leg and pivoting to get an arm free , like that try assist earlier in the season.
Also a big contributor is somehow after Toas injury he went from “is he sneakily the best right centre in the game “ to “has Toa been possessed by the spirit of plodders past, , or like an alien has attached itself to his brain” , because how are they the same player We all had such high expectations . I thought he was gonna take a leap … and he did … “right into room 46 at Concord Aged care facility. He looks really old … and he’s 25 …

Toa has really shit the bed this year...I am truly shocked that Manly picked him up. Maybe I will be proven wrong when he plays every game and wins Dally M Center of the year in 2027.
